that usc/nd game was a lot closer; clearly you didn't watch the game. if you did watch then your interpretation is backwards. the irish got lucky with back to back 100-yd pick sixes that broke the game open. usc was minutes away from a comeback victory in that game.

Is Texas’ talent really on par with Ohio State’s?
I keep hearing and reading just how talented Texas is and then I watch them play, and it doesn’t jump off the screen.
They had the fortune of not playing: Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee, or LSU in conference play this year.
I honestly think had they played anyone of the aforementioned SEC teams’ schedule, they would have finished 9-3 or 8-4.
Texas is good but how good are they?
Is Texas even marginally better than Ole Miss or Tennessee or Alabama or LSU?
I’d say not.
I agree that Texas being an underdog will bring out the best in them and Sark will be razor sharp in his play calling, but will it be enough?
One last question: Of the current (22) starters for Texas (Offense and Defense), how many of them would start on the current Ohio State team? I’d put the over/under at 4.5

I personally don't think any west coast team is a good measure except for maybe an Oregon......jet lag comes into play for all eastern teams in all sports whether you are older and professional or younger adult << I would suggest it affects them more because their strength athletic mojo gets affected. I used to travel 1-2 times zones when I played Midwest or mountain T-zones occasionally and sometimes 6 zones for competitions in Europe (the Circadian effect on the body is the same for 3 hrs or 6 hrs difference with 6hr being slightly longer recovery) and arriving 2-3 days before was not good enough whatsoever.... can't imagine what it is like on 1 day adjusting
2 weeks ago if this matchup happened. Maybe Texas -2.5 to -3.5
Love when 2 talented and deeply stacked rosters of future pros meet up. And one comes in blowing out big names while the other struggles (yet wins) against subpar teams.

So you are evaluating this Texas team based on just two games recent games that they happen to win...aka recency bias...Its all about win and advance, not style points...
Come on guys...Texas has the talent to go toe to toe with Ohio State...I agree, and I have been saying it on this forum, Ohio State, on paper, is the most complete team in the playoff...But, I think it will be a very close game, if Texas does not win outright...Does it not seem like Ohio State is square pick...Every action junkie and their momma will be on The Ohio State Univeristy...Texas is just physical as Ohio State...I think OSU has an advantage at play calling with Chip Kelly...Sark is going to have to be innovative to win this game...He knows the get up 2 TD's and coast model will not work against OSU...He can't have the Deer in the Headlights look that he has exhibited in big games during his tenure...He has defeated Alabama and Michigan on the road in the last two seasons...Won the Big 12 in 2023 and was a close runner up to win the SEC Championship in 2024...Objectively, I think the 6 pt spread is justified...But, anyone who thinks an OSU cover is a near certainty, is delusional...
Not going to happen...Manning may be utilized as a change of pace, but Ewers is our QB...It laughable when I hear Manning should replace a fellow 5 star 3 year starter...Manning is going to be very good starting in 2025 season, but its not his time yet...
What about the Texas Defense? Was the 10 points that The Ohio State University scored against Michigan a month ago, purely an anomaly? The Oregon D has been soft all season...OSU got their manhood challenged with the loss against Michigan, and they came out against Oregon, and played close to there potential. So you think 3 star recruit Kansas State Transfer Will Howard is going to torch this Texas secondary with his "Full Grown Man" Wide Receivers? They will get their yards, but prima facie, it appears that many of you are expecting tOSU to torch Texas like they did Oregon...OSU may win, and they may cover, but will earn it against this Texas team...and honestly, I like the Longhorns chances to cover if not win outright...
If OSU’s offensive line plays as well as it did vs TN and Oregon (who have 2 really good defensive lines), I think they win no problem. It’s been their achilles heel, but looking great the last 2. Not worried about the Bucks defense vs Ewers. 6.5 points is a bit inflated maybe, so something to think about no doubt. Leaning my Bucks…

This is WAY too big a stage for the BIG 12 champ Longhorns (not the SEC champ, clearly UGA was) who edged out ASU. Even with the home field advantage (allegedly). Ohio state travels like no other, you will see that.
There are two major disadvantages and weaknesses for the Longhorns and that is Ewers (stinks) and slimy Sarkisian (average coach).
The absolute best player on the offensive side of the ball is Jeremiah, and again he will make a major difference with Egbuka.

I wonder if OSU busted its nut against Oregon and is due for a letdown of sorts against Texas. It clearly happens to teams in the regular season. Do not know if it's a thing in the playoffs. I discount the Tennessee game because they are so one dimensional that all OSU had to really do was stop the run and force the Vols to throw in less than good conditions.
Looking at the splits on VSIN, 90% of the money and 84% of the volume is on OSU, yet that line still sits at 6. Almost like the house is begging people to take OSU.
