Fairly tough slate to start the season....no top 3 or big plays until week 2 probably....simply too much unknown with the chaos that cfb has become....portal,injuries, suspensions,coaching changes....freakin conference changes....angry.....oh well.....

 

 

ND/Navy U25.5 1st H

 

I lean Navy here a bit, and might play +21.5 if it becomes available or I'd buy the hook.....ND gets Hartman who can sling it....but to who? Mayer is gone.....their best WR is a converted RB....wont bite them this game, but AT Perry won't be nabbing toss ups in Ireland....Navy should have some renewed hope with new coach and new year....but they still won't be able to throw the ball and their QB (whoever they trot out there) simply won't be as dynamic as needed to make the triple option hum. They may play a bit different with more passing, but their personnel is limited for obvious reasons. Weather shouldn't be a factor, but might rain with a little wind....which would just lead to a few less passes if anything. The Navy TT is set at 13.5, which is very enticing....but I think Vegas knows the Midshipmen finding the endzone more than once isn't gonna be easy. Honestly don't know anything about either teams fg kicker, but if they show their faces more than once the low total should be looking good (a miss or 2 even better). The clock running should knock a few plays per side off, but hard to judge how much of an impact it will have overall. I dont think Marcus Freeman will open it up and rip it downfield as he definitely doesn't wanna lose this game....so they will probably lean on their best unit, the O Line, to play smash mouth and get back home with a win and in one piece. Navy is gonna be Navy. The will have a couple drives that get a first down or 2, but then will find themselves in 3rd & 7 and ultimately be punting.....

 

Being overseas cant help but be a distraction....turnovers could be good if they end drives in opposing territory.....but a pick 6 can flame a total just the same.....

 Like this analysis and agree. Personally feel like Navy get 14-17 and really think Hartman is a great fit in this scheme. I’m on over 49 as I see a 17-38 ball game. Your 1H under has me nervous though an_speechless cheers to a good season an_cheers

That final score wouldn't shock me at all brother. I think Navy can get those points as well, and concur Hartman will do well.....Im just banking on it taking a couple quarters to gel.....

This isn't a game you should spend a ton of time on or beat yourself up if ya get it wrong....I know I won't be cursing if NMSt wins big. I think UMass will be improved all over the field due to the portal.....they get former Clemson and GT qb Phommachanh....he's a dual threat and he got several new receivers to throw to via the portal. Don Brown is a solid coach and these kids will play well and now have a bit of talent. NMSt played pretty well last year and I like Pavia. Jerry Kill has shown he can coach, but I'm not a big fan of his really. I think this line is based off of last seasons results....I just don't think UMass will be as bad as they were in 2022. I have been reading lots of game notes and thoughts, from online sites and forums.....Haven't seen one person on UMass. Not one. They may get blown out, sure. However, Vegas set this total at 45 and UMass team total is 18 or 18.5.....UMass only surpasses that total 2 times last year.....food for thought.....
