MAC is out
Who is next?
P12 +250
MW +275
B10 +300
CUSA +325
AAC +350
SB+600
ACC + 2000
B12 +2200
SEC +5000
No other conferences cancel +2500
Mugg, I'd say the MAC depends on the B10, and not the other way around. But some B10 ADs already want to postpone to spring. I know the MAC got lawyers involved after the B10 cancelled non-conference games to see if they could get their money. I think they decided to cancel after it was decided they wouldn't get it.
BA, I thought about the SB. Financially, they are in the same boat as the MAC and it makes sense to cancel early, but since it the South, where college football is a religion, I don't see how they can be next.

SOUTH- always taking it in the shorts...ha (we deserve it trust me)....
I was thinking of the whole region as a 'super spreader' basically...in Georgia some schools are already open, with NO mask enforcement at all. ALL Virologists / Epidemiologists...say it will be an absolute disaster if/when public schools open.....(really not financially equipped to deal with it properly is the issue)..........I believe 'em.
Not sure about you more civilized types....we southerners reject science/ experts like you wouldn't believe....so we are in for a continued ass-whoopin' most likely.....Worse, the % that will reject a vaccine, when it does come, is gonna be shockingly high.

Big 10 presidents / chancellors meet TONITE
Question; Wonder if a conference can play on their own?....think so
* unlikely sure, just wondering if possible
eg. let's say P5 cancels....IND / CUSA / Belt / AAC...then cancel......can MTW still play ???

Looks like they're looking to cancel Fall football and try for Spring instead according to ESPN

If, they do that....just wait till you see the guys dropping out then, burn a whole year of eligibity wtf?
* could change rules I guess, but money will be tight
I actually wouldn't mind (too much) seeing P5 cancel....rolling with G5 only....or even 1/2 conferences..... I thought they would wait until classes started...*collect room/board*....keep meeting / practicing....seeing how things went (yikes).....THEN canceling / postponing whatever. Fact they're meeting right NOW, suggests they're done.

Looks like they can play alone....Earlier, SEC commish says they might do it....so possible, but unlikely maybe

There are no assurances that this situation will turn positive enough for
football to be played in the Spring , Players opting out and deferring
to the 2021 NFL Draft will skyrocket.

We'll get to see what kinda lines the books can hang for Spring football when
teams have up to 400 " Opt outs " for the 2012 NFL Draft .

Smart money says...the reason they haven't canceled yet, is because they have no answers to - NOW WHAT?
All in meeting is scheduled for Tuesday - so likely no news before then

If they are going to cancel a Fall schedule , they should cancel the season entirely .

What's incredible IMO....
Is the fragmented...lack of a central voice / plan of action we see all over the damn place.... kinda the way we want it (collectively)...and fine when things are going well...but a disaster when they ain't.
Here....why not EVERYBODY....get together several weeks ago, rework the whole schedule - push up the starting date to October or so. 'Nuther words...don't even think about having guys report until sometime in September. That gives you time to figure things out, answer KEY questions, like: what happens when some guy dies? This reactionary / make it up as you go is BS, and not necessary. THEN, if it turns out you must cancel - you do it with some kind of plan. Now they will likely whip one up, that will no doubt be seriously flawed....by Tuesday or so.

Football in spring/summer heat. Kids will be dropping like flies.

Trevor Lawrence tweets;
Lawrence also tweeted separate messages about the upcoming season and why he thinks student-athletes should be able to get to play.
“People are at just as much, if not more risk, if we don’t play. Players will all be sent home to their own communities where social distancing is highly unlikely and medical care and expenses will be placed on the families if they were to contract covid19,” the star quarterback wrote.
“Not to mention the players coming from situations that are not good for them/ their future and having to go back to that. Football is a safe haven for so many people. We are more likely to get the virus in everyday life than playing football. Having a season also incentivizes -"
Totally agree!
Problem as I see it, the great/very good teams talk this way, the not so good/bad teams lean the other direction. Will be interesting.

I think the SEC could go at it alone...10 or 11 game regular season, and a 4 team postseason maybe. You know the winner would call themselves National Champion.
