Talk about a team that loves to play to the level of their opponent. It's mind boggling how much this team is underachieving despite an elite defense that held Notre Dame to less than 300 yards and NC State to less than 200. In my eyes they are much better than what their record indicates. You look at their last 2 losses and and it's clear and obvious why. NIU had 4 turnovers against Ball state and 6 turnover on downs against Toledo. This is still fresh in their minds and I have to believe that with week and a half to prepare, this had to be one of the points of emphasis.
West Michigan is solid on offense but PATHETIC on defense. They allowed 500+ yards to both Akron and Buffalo and I have no reason to believe NIU can't do the same tonight. NIU needs to win 2 more games for bowl eligibility and I think they come out focused tonight and get the W.
