Wow you are stupid. Clearly if you evaluate the entire resume, Ohio State has an argument to be in the top 4. I actually would think about voting them 5 still, but it is so close that you are clearly biased to state what you have here.
59-0 in a championship game against a good team. 12-1 total in a power 5 conference. That standard "eye test" stuff that everyone talks about. All that works in the Buckeyes' favor.
Having said that, their loss was the worst of the top 6. So I can see how they get locked out. But is waaaaay closer than you think.
I think the top 4 stay the same.

Think about it this way. If the Big 12 commissioner doesn't even think his teams are better, then how can the committee think they're better
The commissioner has no idea which team is champion of their own little conference.

I do agree with you on those points. Hence my original statement as to how close this is

I'd really like to see 6 teams, but that couldn't work, because the "Byes" would be based on perception. i.e. this year 1 loss Alabama and 1 loss Oregon would get a bye over undefeated FSU. Unless you put in some clause that undefeated teams get first shot at byes, but that would discourage tougher schedules.
I'm sure the committee went over all these scenarios when they came up with 4, but 6 would really be the best number.
Champions of the power 5 conferences: SEC, Big 10, Big 12, ACC.
The 6th team would be the highest ranked team otherwise. This allows a Boise St. to sneak in during a good year, or a 1 loss SEC team to get in if they ran the table and lost in the conference championship. Or a co-conference champion like Baylor/TCU.
The 4th team this year should be who the committee views has the stronger conference; the Big 10 or Big 12.
Big 10 characterized by good defenses with pro-style offenses. The big 12 with wide open spread offenses that put up big points.
Question is do you think Michigan St, Wisconsin, Nebraska are better competition than Baylor/TCU, Oklahoma St., Oklahoma.
If they really have some logical explanation of Strength of Schedule between the 3, I would just go with that to choose #4.
I believe if the committee has chosen TCU before today, TCU will keep their spot. Ohio St and FSU both beat ranked teams, so they could possibly move up.
