@ UTEP– One of OU’s four trips to Texas in 2012. No doubt they scheduled this game due to the recruiting benefits related to playing in the armpit of the state. UTEP’s horrible defense will even allow a pathetic OU running game to average 5 yards per carry. Win OU 1-0

Florida A&M – Really Bob? A division l team in this day and age? OU fans will promote this one as ‘Theguys that won a Championship back in 1978.’ Pathetic scheduling. Win OU 2-0

Kansas St – Klein, again, proves that he and the Wildcats are one-dimensional and an adrenaline filled crowd will help guide OU to their biggest home win of the year against an overrated top 15 team in Norman. Stoops will have a 28-point lead late in the 4th and Jones will still be in attempting passes. Win OU 3-0

@ Texas Tech- Doege lit a better OU defense up last season in Norman. This year won’t be any different as a horrendous OUsecondary is victimized again in Lubbock with no answer. Jones continues on last year inability to be a top-tier QB without Ryan Broyles, and the Red Raiders smack the Sooners for 3rd time in 4 years. Loss 3-1

Texas – Constant pressure, an unstoppable running game, a relentless secondary and a group of youngsters looking for revenge is the story here. The team that wins the line of scrimmage, and controls the turnovers always wins the RRSO. OU’s running game continues to fail, and their lack of experience at WR bite their butts. Texas out rushes OU 265 to 46, and the secondary forces three turnovers by the uncomfortable Jones. Loss 3-2

Kansas – brand new QB’s and a brand new system (for Kansas) equal a blowout for OU. Bob plays Blake Bell 50% of the time as he realizes that the off-season personnel losses and OU’s inability to compete at the highest level equal building for 2013. Win 4-2

NotreDame – In front of a cautious, but optimistic crowd in Norman, Brian Kelly invokes his revenge late in the 4thquarter to put the Sooners down for the 3rd time, and with 2-losses in Norman the same year. Notre Dame holds a dreadful OU running game to under 75 yards and grinds out the victory. Loss 4-3

@ Iowa St – Still just Iowa St – Blake Bell runs for three (less than 5 yards out) TD’s and OU throttles Iowa St on the road. Win 5-3

Baylor – Game will be a shootout – Florence and Jones put up huge passing yards, but the lack of defense (as we saw in their bowl) allows OU to notch another home win. Win 6-3

@ West Virginia – Again, neither team brings a defense to this game, but West Virginia has the better weapons in a high scoring affair. The home crowd elevates West Virginia to the win, and Geno Smith has the OU secondary thinking he’s Robert Griffin. Loss 6-4

Oklahoma St – Bedlam!? Hardly – this one will have two teams on the decline and just an in-state rivalry. T-Boone decides to watch this game from his house, and the young, mistake prone Cowboys realize that they don’t have any more 40-year old baseball burnouts available. Win 7-4

@ TCU– TCU’s personnel losses, and in-season injuries will doom the Frogs in their 1sthome game against the Sooners in the Big 12. TCU endures a bad season (by their standards) and learns that the Big 12 is much more difficult than their old conference. Win 8-4

I think if the second offense was tweeting or weed, i dont think he will play the first 4 games, if ever! He has moments of greatness and moments of utter stupidity!

I have bet against OU religiously over the years, and have done fairly well......but.....

That schedule is so weak that OU will have to play terrible half of the time to lose 3 games.

The only games I can see OU losing are @WVU late in the season, and possibly Texas (but should be handy favorite in this one).

This year is cake walk for OU and not even Stoops can fuck it up...my guess is 12-0, 7-4 vs the number.

Well gridironguy, I stick by what I said....cakewalk schedule.  OU has huge advantages in nearly every matchup. Game by game  here is how I see it:

Kansas St.       At home, off of a bye?  could there be a worse spot for K-State.....OU whips them badly every year.  Look it up.

@Texas Tech     Last year TT beat OU.....in a game that was delayed by lightning for 5 hours....it finished in front of an empty house at 2 AM. Pretty special circumstance wouldnt you say?

Texas (red river rivalry)  Without solid QB play Texas is screwed.  In my opinion they have big problems under center...David Ash struggled throwing the ball, and he looks to be the starter.  UT won't be able to run, OU has a big advantage in this one as well!

Kansas        OU is 60-2 at home over the passed 10 yrs (philsteele)

Notre Dame      If this one was in south bend then I would agree that it is loseable........but OU is 60 and fucking 2 in norman over the last 10 years!!!! This game will likely be the game of the week, and the Sooners have a huge home field advantage!

@Iowa State     I went to ISU for a year back in the day....they know that they are severely overmatched in everyway in this one.  The big OSU win last year was in the wake of tradgedy...and it still took a miracle for them to pull off the upset.  OU really big in this one.

Baylor   Baylor has a shot at being pretty damn good this year, I expect the Florence kid at qb to put up big numbers in replacement of RG3.....but again, OU will be able to run at will and in NORMAN, see above.

@WVU      this game fits the mold of a Stoops meltdown.....especially if WVU is ranked and hungry. The sooners can lose this one.

OSU       Bedlam......OSU is starting a true freshman QB this season...they play this one coming off of a tough 4 game stretch vs TCU, @Kstate, WVU, TT....and they have to go to Norman.

@TCU     TCU has a great program, and they have a better shot than most to beat the sooners.....they do get OU at home, and catch them off of Bedlam.........In my opinion, it is all about depth this late in the season, and with the increase in compete level in TCU's schedule week to week with the step up to the big 12, they should be absolutely beat up by this one.  Again, with a chance to play in the title game likely on the line, OU will have a big advantage.

That is not an SEC schedule, a ND schedule or even a Big 10 schedule.

UTEP, Florida A@M, Kansas, Iowa st are absolute pushovers.........K-state, TT, Baylor, TCU  are outmatched badly.  ND and OSU have to go to Norman, which is a huge advantage to the Sooners.  That leaves WVU and Texas to do the work....and no Big 12 title game either.

It will take Landry Jones breaking his leg to screw this one up....the schedule plays to OU's strengths in every way......and no I am not a sooners fan in the least.

There just aren't enough loseable games there to justify going under 9.5 wins...that is why I called the schedule a "cakewalk".

No, I wont give the 30 pts........the goal in the first two games will be to get rythym, and playing time for backups.....depth development for later on in the year, and the score won't be as big of a deal to Stoops....but they may not be able to help hanging 60+ on Fla AM.  I have OU hanging 49ish on utep.

In my humble opinion,  I am looking at the K-State spread in game three as being potentially juicy......after two beatdowns and a bye week, the Sooners should be looking to flex and blowout a possibly ranked team in K-State.

That is too bad about the center...you hate to see a young man get all messed up physically and not be able to compete.

Not convinced that 49 will cover 30.....not on the road, week one.

Most likely lots of defensive subs in the second half.......maybe a first half bet though!   Probably -17 first half OU.

I hesistate to lay the points because of the motivational factors of the coaches....OU is 50pts better than utep on a given day...but, on the road in week one with bigger fish to fry, I don't think that betting on Stoops and company to run it up to 4tds+ is a move that fits the bill.

But, anyone that likes OU -30 and under 9.5 wins on the season, more power to them and best of luck this year.

tiasman....I have written a bunch on your thread here looking at the over.....not trying to be a prick or anything, just supplying a different point of view and my opinions on the 9.5 line.
