I agree that Mackey is not great at going thru his progressions. However, even if Stoudt is better (which he probably is) at going thru his progressions, our Oline cant give him enough time to get past the primary before its time to get rid of the ball or eat dirt. He obv has no speed to escape pressure. Despite Mackeys inability to look past 1 wr, his legs can give him enough time to create some things downfield. Mackey gives us the best chance to win but its pretty obvious by now, our coaches are to damn stubborn to change their style to fit him. Either that or they are so damn ignorant they dont know how to change. Probably a small combination of both.
Brunetti is not a quarterback. He cant hit a 15 yard out in 7 on 7. My only guess is he is decent at going thru his progression and the coaches thought our Oline/running game would be enough. Not so much after Bolden went down. But I hear Brunetti is a good kid, so hopefully we can find a spot for him somewhere on the field. But QB isnt it. And I agree, S. Bryant is going to be a helluva player!
I understand what you are saying about not being able to emotionally detach yourself from the rebels, making it tough to bet against them. Let me share my philosophy. I bet against them in spots and if we win the game, it goes a long way with my mental health. If we lose, I make a litte $. Its a win/win. Except of course when we lose and dont cover like the BYU game.
