Joe can admit that he didn't do enough (which he did). Why can't you.
You can argue that many others were complicit in keeping this covered up....and they were. Some even more so than Joe (hence the reason for the charges for others). But that doesn't take Joe off the hook for not doing something.
Joe admitted that McQueary told him he witnessed something "sexually inappropriate and fondling" in the shower.
And all Joe did was report it and just forget about it forever....and you think that's OK? Never asked McQueary for details. In fact, I don't think he was ever involved in a discussion about what should be done after he pawned the responsibility off on the AD.
It's unforgiveable.
How do you know? I wasn't there so I won't assume.
How often do you hear of a crime and call the police and tell them you heard something?
He handed over information he heard just as if you would call the police to tell them something you witnessed or heard. From there would you call the police to follow up or would you assume that the police will take the necessary steps to do their job? Joe had a job and he did it, it's now up to his superiors to do their job. Just because his superiors higher up in the chain didn't do their jobs or maybe did there jobs doesn't mean Joe is to be blamed.
