It may just be me, but it's pretty obvious that the best teams, did not win tonight, and the predicted spreads were waaaay off. This goes to show that you can't bet a game because a spread looks weird, you just have to go with what you know, and bet it.
Houston, is statistically a far better team than UTEP. They were favored by 17, and should have covered that. They didn't... Why, I don't know?
Same thing with Pitt... They played poorly against a Notre Dame team, and lost. Pitt played the same team, and won. Once again, statistically, USF was the better team, and clearly the better pick. Why they didn't cover, is once again beyond me.
All you can do in situations like this is not let it effect your thought process... Go with what works, and don't change your methods. Sure, look into the reasons why your teams didn't cover, and learn from that, but don't swap what works, for what doesn't work.
I have drank a lot of whiskey, and went 0-2 tonight, and those are my ramblings... Good night sirs.

We all know lines are set to get balanced action on both sides. These are 18 to 21 year old kids controlling everything from our moods to our finances. Who knows what those kids went through all week leading up to game time?
Amazing today that on the streak survivor contest, 5 of the top 10 leaders all had South Florida -2.5. Football ... crazy game.

Pitt has been learning a new offensive system & you knew they weren't as bad as they looked in the 4th quarter against Iowa or barely beating Maine. USF hadn't really shown that much. They had the help of 5 turnovers to beat ND & then smashed a couple of scrub teams at home. I never have trusted BJ Daniels as anything other than mediocre. As far as the better team winning, i hope you mean based on rankings & pre game stats because the best team on the field tonight was definitely Pitt.

JMB - That's not what I am saying... I am just saying that the margins shouldn't always be THIS far off... I mean this was the complete opposite of what made sense to me, and I am usually pretty dead on this season.
Hank - Clearly Let's hope this isn't a sign for Saturday.
JD - And I swear I looked at your pick, and was soooo close to looking more into it, and taking that. Congratz though sir!
ATL - Thank you! Responses like yours give me hope!
Akeem -
NJ - Yes... This is a true statement.

Wheelz - FU man LOL

Do watch the games or just play the results. USF was clearly outplayed in that game. Notre Dame shot themselves in the foot with turnovers(5) and still had a chance to win. If this is the best analysis you can come up with quite gambling while you're ahead.

Please define best team? If all you look at is records then you might have to adjust how you cap games. You had two home dogs to begin with. Plus Houston did win. They didnt beat the spread. Isnt it more plausible for the away team to have a bad game rather than the home team. Do you not realize home field in football is a huge advantage.
Do you not realize prior to tonight last 3 meetings Pitt/USF pitt is 3-0 means they know how to deal with Daniels. Also Pitt could of been easily 4-0 coming into tonight instead of 2-2. Guess you didnt see how close those games they lost were. Then what about the fact other than the upset week 1 USF pull off against ND they have only played cupcake teams.
You might want to review how much info you really looked at before making an educated guess.

Thats why they play the games. The best teams dont always win. Maybe if USF's actually tried to gameplan for the game? (And I had USF)... Seems as if there coaches had no clue who they were playing. News flash *** Ray Graham is really good and all Pitt has, not sure why USF never loaded the box to make Sunseri beat them. News flash *** 3rd down Pitt is going to hand it to or pass it to Grahama, maybe you should think about covering him lol...Also not sure why USF didnt pass more against a terrible Pitt pass defense??? Coaches are dumb sometimes. Didnt watch the Houston/UTEP game but thats a classic case of why using stats to cap games is stupid. Stats have nothing to do with who wins a game and by how much. Its all about matchups.
