Let's talk about this game tonight. Very interested to hear angles to why Pittsburgh will cover. I lean to Virginia here at 7. Pittsburgh has been looking good as of late, beating the daylights out of duke and keeping it close against ND with ND having home field advantage.. Pitt has covered their last three. this now makes them 3-1 in conference games. they have had a great run game thus far. virginia is going to look to stuff that up, only allowing 124 rush yards per game, limiting their opponents to 4 yards per rush and only 31 rush attempts per game. if pitt conitnues to get stuffed quick, this will lead a very poor team with third down conversion rate of 37% on the season.
however, virginia will certainly be a test, at home, nonetheless. these boys have been rolling. they're now 4-1 in conference games with a pretty easy schedule ahead of them, coming up against liberty next weekend. 7-1 Ats, 5-0 at home. virginia has outmatched pitt on almost every efficiency stat, their d is far superior to pitt, and they out rank them in both passing and ground game offensively and defensively. i've noticed they tend to keep it close and then really put the pedal to the metal in the second half. i know that pitt has historically taken care of business against virginia, but i feel like this year is going to be a little bit different, really utilizing ellis to grind out the weaker rushing d. zacheus has been an absolute monster picking apart defenses and exposing holes, which should be a great match up to a team allowing almost 250 passing yards per game
would love to hear any feedback i do have some additional thoughts i'll ad, but i've got a meeting to run into at the moment
No team is as good as it looks when winning nor are they as bad as they look when losing
