Let me start off by saying I am a HUGE Colt McCoy fan. I think the guy deserves the Heisman hands down for what he means to his team and is probably my favorite player in the country. But with that being said, I think they are slightly over-rated. No running game to speak of(beside Colt) and no big offensive weapons outside of Shipley. Yes they beat OU but OU made tons of crucial mistakes to give that game away. On the other side, I think people are being a little too quick to look past Ohio St here. Yes their past bowl losses have been well documented, but I think this team is better then the credit they are getting around here. Pryor is starting to come into his own of late. For once, this team not only has a solid defense but an offense that can actually put up pts. I really like them to keep this game in single digits if not win outright at the end.

I know you and almost the rest of the forum is on Texas but I would appreciate if you could add more behind saying 'UT by 21.' Everyone is saying Texas is going to play mad and like they are out to prove people wrong, but that can only take them so far...

Texas is just superior all around physically to them this year, will have had as much rest as anyone since last game. They are mad and have point to prove. Also want to try to make a statement to split a Title with the NC game winner.

Tex hasn't play against a good def all yr and their running game is McCoy.

Big OSU fan, i really like TX by more than 10.... Prior no Vince Young yet ( he is a better passer though ), wait & see. I think if TX comes into this game w/ a chip on it's shoulder it's not even close TX -10
But if they half ass it, watch out as Tressel likes close/ball control type game..

Um, they aren't that different. This team returned like 19 of 22 starters last year and Pryor hasn't shown me anything yet except that he's got some potential and could be good later on in his career.
The problem with OSU is they beat up on lesser opponents all the time but then gets demolished and embarrassed by more talented teams. They played Penn State close but I see this game being a lot like the USC game. Texas just has a quicker, more physical defense and a pretty damn good offense to boot.
Final score: Texas 35 OSU 13

That was a very high quality post buddy..... i disagree totally with the conclusion... but you have posted the best OSU pick I have EVER seen on this forum... it's that OSU kool-aid thing i think... I wish you GL with your play.. but I respectfully am going to bang the otherside...

Rangerz - I am one of the few who are with you buddy. Being from the Pittsburgh area, I am quite familiar with T Pryor - this kid is a winner, period. He has been his entire life in multiple sports. Since Ohio State has inserted him into the lineup, the team has played much better. They should have won that Penn State game if it wasn't for Pryor's extra effort to gain a couple extra yards which led to his fumble and a Penn State victory. Did anyone see how dejected Pryor was after losing the Penn State game??? I am telling you this kid hates to lose, and since that game OSU has dominated every game. Here are some of the factors which I believe will lead to an OSU victory or, at the very least, cover:
1. T Pryor's will to win and maturity after having almost a full season under his belt
2. A healthy running game
3. A Texas team lacking motivation (let's face it, they believe they should be playing for the NC)
4. Slight coaching advantage to OSU
Colt McCoy is a great player and Texas is a very good team, but I don't think they are a great team and they are certainly beatable. Grab the points quickly as they are starting to dwindle.

The osu offense is not going to frighten Texas a bit. In fact it'll probably be a relief after what they've faced all season. Conversely, this will be the best offense ohio st has seen. The question will be........can osu keep up? No........
As far as motivation goes........... this is still a BCS game. If either team isn't ready it's the coaches' fault.

I am a lifelong Texas fan and alum, and OSU +10 seems like the more valuable side to me.
That said, Texas D is going to torment the freshman QB.
Texas football this year wins games the same way Texas baseball has won games for over 15 years: fundamentals and small ball.
Play solid, sustain offense and you will score when you can and in turn prevent opposition scoring. every now and then you hit the home run as icing on the cake. Sometimes you grind out a small win. Sometimes small ball has you up 12-2 in the 6th inning.
It's a loose analogy but it fits. Texas hasn't dazzled but its hard to find flaws watching in game. stats...sure. points...probably. but thats small ball.
Ohio State can keep this close if they play strong and come out swinging. Unfortunately I don't see them playing a game that can beat Texas for 60 minutes.

The other teams, COL, NEB, Bay, Tex AM, Kansas, K st, Iow st, they all suck. So you have more than half of the teams that suck, and some of them suck really bad. This isn't much different from most conferences, just way more weighted towards the top teams. So how is the Big 12 a great conference again? You can say the top teams are the best, but certainly not the whole conference.
