If only he had a guy like Arch Manning sitting on the bench. Letting Az St double you up on plays and wearing your defense out....outrageously incompetent.

But we are not surprised. We have seen them do this several times in 2nd halfs this season but yeah abhorrent play calling.

Offense or Defense matters in this game? Its Arizona State ....think about it......THEY LOVE TO RUN!

Doesn't the SEC have the greatest defenses since slice bread according to every announcer or pundit.....poster in Covers 

 That's a shame.......ASU covers but would've love to see the upset.

Wasn't his brightest moment, but the stress of the moment probably made him to not think logically. 

In the end they got the W and its a learning moment for Sarks.

The Texas talent won this game.... not Sark. Ewers isn't awful, but he should be sharing snaps with Manning. 

Any good coach would have ended this game early in the 3rd quarter.....

I agree with you that this should have never gotten to this.

And I am not saying Sark won the game. But he gets to live another day and for Longhorn fan's hopefully he learns from his mistakes.

Anyone know what's up with Train and Wahoo? I had to dig down pretty far to find this thread...

Ewers is good, not great.  Makes some great throws.  Makes some horrible throws.  Seems to be pretty clutch, unlike the Texas kicker who sucks ass this year.  He has the yips really badly.  

Sark is just pot committed with Ewers.  He got them to the playoffs last year.  Got them there this year.  I think bringing in Arch for anything more than a gadget play could do some damage to Ewers' confidence and that's even worse right now.  

Arch is probably the better QB, but right now experience probably matters more than anything and Quinn has tons of that, Arch doesnt.  Arch knows it's his team next year (and the year after if he wants to stick around for his Junior year) so he's playing the long game.  I hope Texas can bring in some more great WRs/TEs for him like Ewers' has had the past two seasons

for a long time I’ve compared Sark to Kiffin when they get a lead. They both get bored by plays that work, get greedy with trying to hit homers, and set stubborn when drives stall. They can be a liability in many games. 

Not my research - maybe Collin Wilson at AN?

Supposedly Ewers is historically good vs the blitz - with OL issues / rushing issues maybe Sark likes his chances with Ewers ....

I always thought he didn't want to create issues with team chemistry - but given their struggles in the red zone, why wouldn't you put in AM more often?

They were one horrible ASU secondary play (4th/13) away from getting beat.....

 Imo, OSU will win easily. So why not take a chance and start Manning at QB. Nothing to lose and more to gain. Give the OSU defense the mobile QB.

 No way with the Texas talent the game should have gone to OT. Texas had an easy SOS in the SEC. They were exposed and overrated.
