Saturday In-Game

It apparently took Alabama :05 to score.  Is that considered a little or a lot these days?  I wonder how many decades it's been since Bama has played in front of that many empty seats. 

Texas/Oklahoma always reminds why split crowd games are great, and why genuine hatred is good for sports.

I actually feel bad for ManU and its manager today.  I didn't know that was possible,  If I ever feel bad for Duke basketball and Coach K, I'm getting out of the business.

I think Pitt wins today.  I don't know why either. 

Has is occurred to anyone yet that "pace" offenses turn video replay into more of a farce than it typically is? 

Temple football doesn't have much going for it (cheesesteaks aside), but it has pretty decent home uniforms.  The Owls have decided to jettison those for some grey monstrosity today, giving us our first sartorial penalty of the day.  There will, no doubt, be more.  UT and OU are playing in an old dumpy stadium in a bad neighborhood in their traditional uniforms.  Place is loud, and there's not an empty seat in sight.  Perhaps there's a message there somewhere.

Missed that.  Can only watch nine games at once.  Sounds dumb, but maybe they thought they saw something on film they thought they could exploit.  Good for my over, I guess.  Not so good for my "Missouri -1."

Pitt is wearing the Dorset/Marino uniforms that all of its fans like.  This raises the obvious question of why Pitt doesn't wear the uniform its (handful of) fans actually like in the first place.  So far, they are sucking in them anyway.

I assume Rutgers wil find a way to beat Illinois today.  Having watched both a couple of times, I do not know that is possible. 

Probably not since that 1937 Wildcat Cigar Bowl team that tied Auburn 7-7 in San Juan. 

Potentially stupid (but serious) question:  How could there have been an illegal block on Oklahoma during an interception return where OU was the team that threw the interception?  Can a player "block" on a team that no longer has the ball?

"Targetting" is well-intentioned stupidity.  Many things in life are.

I'm shocked that a video review crew in Birmingham overturned a fumble where there was really no definitive angle.  Bama don't need no help.

I'm off to a preposterously good start today.  I'm gonna cash a couple of team totals in the first half, and all of the sides are solid.  On fly in the ointment is the BC/State total, but they could still get there in three or four OT's.  I'm waiting for it all to go horribly horribly wrong.

FWIW, neither did I.  I had Temple over 31.  I think they had that in 20 minutes.  I have several others that are damn near already over. 

I am presently watching the dumpster fire that is Manchester United.  Newcastle hadn't scored in 188 minutes, but is up 2-0 at the Theater of Dreams. 

Football games largely going to form.  United has pulled two back at Old Trafford, and could have had several more.
