I placed a wager at Mandalay Bay this past Friday night. There was a country and western 3 day concert near MB (normally an empty lot, temporary venue). Several people have died and many are injured...I think the death count will rise. I hope all of you, my Covers Brothers, are safe...My thoughts and prayers are with the victims...

This guy was from Mesquite, NV. No doubt in my mind he will be tied to Cliven Bundy. I lived near Mesquite for several years, never happier to get away from that area. Too many insane survivalist types.
One would think the day when terror strikes Vegas it would be from a foreign soil, not some demented old man!
My prayers.

We have to start looking at the root of the evil and the means that are available.....to carry it out. Blame is cheap if we aren't learning why and how.
I am not so sure knowing so much /being wired up is the way we were meant to live because when the way we try to live in the modern world crosses/tangles with old ways of fulfilling basic needs, wants seem to take over and people lash out. I am becoming adverse to turning on the tv or computer for entertainment because all I see is constant issues and politics entering my 'free time'. That said, I still think that it is important to hear tragedies such as this one so that we can be empathetic and hear how we can help.....my heart is constantly broken it seems....too often in a year. Hopefully out of bad will come some good down the road.
Love thy neighbor has become loathe thy neighbor for some and I am really working at trying to get that back (love thy neighbour) in my 'small circle in life'.
Thoughts and prayers go out to those affected. Sad to see our happiness under attack.
Getting better with a society starts with one+ another and then another....
Proving is hard. Talk is easy.

Gamebreaker 23 , I have long considered Vegas is on the hit list for terrorists . Sin City far as their concerned , relaxed law enforcement , drugs galore and so close to the border .

I am a musician and have some buddies who played the festival that night and were there enjoying the rest of the show when the shots began to ring out. Just unimaginable fear and panic set in. There was no way of stopping this terrorist from the havoc he unleashed.
Pray for the victims and their families. Tell your loved one's that you love them. Find it in your heart to drop the animosity towards people you don't see eye to eye with. America has far too much potential for us to continue to see lives taken because of some hatred that is misguided.

UPDATE: Following Sunday night's mass shooting in Las Vegas, ESPN has reversed its initial plan and will televise the national anthem
before Monday night's Chiefs vs. Redskins game, Sporting News has
learned. The network also will air a moment of silence for the victims.

My family lived in Vegas for about 6 years. i remember visiting and seeing the local news.... couldnt believe the amount of violence and death out there on a daily basis.... you wouldnt know it because they want you to believe vegas is safe for obvious tourist reasons.... But that city is dangerous. period
