Florida state is an incredibly talented team that had an amazing season- IMO another way to look at it is- which of the top programs in the country would have gone undefeated vs their schedule? And what would their statistical rankings be at the end of the season? I think there are actually several other teams that could.... So the dominance- while impressive- doesn't make them unique- just how the schedule went-

Dsn150 - valid point but I do think they're unique in terms of their talent and depth. No other team could dominate a Clemson team like they did. I know that's just one game but that was their biggest test this season. I think there's a wide margin between them and everyone else. Their talent, the talent of their depth, and the athleticism of their depth are second to none for any team in the past 10 yrs in college football IMO. I think the 2011 and 2012 Bama teams would give the 2013 Noles a hell of game, but the 2013 Bama team IMO is not nearly as good nor is anyone else in the country. We'll see what happens.
pnutt - IMO to believe that Auburn can score 50+ against a defense with 8 future NFL starters in the 1st string is a bit crazy. I'm in no way shape or form an Auburn hater or discrediting anything Auburn has done or accomplished, but I honestly will be shocked if they score over 30 in this one

IMO fla st is prolly the best team in the country. However Ala and Mizzouri defense are the equal to FlaSt defense they won't stop Aub either. Obvious that the number attracted FlaSt money public all in on Winston going with the books and taking the points

FSU would more than likely win all those games on a neutral field.
That being said if those 5 games are the meat of their schedule and had to play say A&M and UGA back to back, then go on the road and play LSU and Ole Miss they could easily have a loss.
Being favored by 30 plus points for over half your games shows that you're a good team but if you dont think it displays how bad your opposition was then you're not thinking clearly
So what you are saying is the point spread is an overall (but not always) decent representation of how good a team is or bad.
So....FSU -8 vs Auburn means?

Ridiculous. So if they played an FCS schedule and destroyed them then thats a sign of a great team? 5 teams with 4 or less wins, 1 FCS team, 2 .500 teams and 2 teams only 1 game over .500.
FSU can go out and destroy AU as well, but it's much more likely that AU stays within the number and has a chance to win.
And when they destroy Auburn...will they pass your "eye test"?

How do you figure MIZZOU defense is in the same league as FSU defense??? Position by position FSU is better by a wide margin, I honestly don't believe Alabama's was better THIS SEASON either the key thing people keep failing to realize is THIS SEASON not just ohh it's SEC so they are the best at everything

I wrote about this earlier. The line actually shows too much respect for Auburn. FSU at almost every position is equal or better than auburn especially where SEC fans think is most important -Defense! Also can people cut the shit. This is the worst SEC season I can remember in a long time. You have 1 nfl starting qb the rest have a lot to prove and the defenses were terrible across the board besides Bama and it was a down year for them. Auburn runs 3 plays that accounts for 80% of their run game! Malzon said it himself. Nick Marshall throws less than 20 times a game. Fl st will play man with a minimum of 8 in the box at all times. Marshall will have to throw to win. I trust Winston way more than marshall.

Oh my, all the same arguments everyone has made against Auburn all year...and proven wrong..except a fluke Georgia game. FSU pickers are gonna be dissappointed. You can say I told you so.

Auburn running attack impossible to stop if this game was played the next week Auburn would probably win..But all that time for FSU to prepare gives them the upper hand..Hope it lives up to the hype.

Exactly. They run a Tim Tebow offensive scheme. FSU has a month to prepare for it. Think about every game where a team has had time to prepare for the spread option. The option team loses because they can't convert 3rd and longs on passing downs when the run gets stuffed.
