Spring Football

Alabama A day Spring Game is on ESPN right now.

Bama's defense  is making their offense look pretty good right now.

Probably a good idea to let Bama play a couple of games to see

just what their defense will look like in 2024 before I wager on them.

I think a lot of teams will see their shortcomings ant try to fix them via the

Transfer Portal.I still researching , but a couple of teams have lost most of

their Defensive secondary as for the past 2 yrs. they've been plugging holes

with Grad Transfers. Gonna be harder to fill those voids going forward.

Already punched that UGA/BAMA total on FD like the day it came out over 53.5 I mean if we can't trust Deboer at this point we can't trust anyone his offenses rise from literally nothing and then collapse in his wake .. QB's too Pennix was good but not all that special without him around at Indy .. even felt like Haener didn't have the same magic w out him that Fresno D was really the key to their championship year after he left ..  and now he has like 4 QB's and whatever the WR sitch is maybe not champ level ideal but what WR doesn't wanna be in his offense if Bama has a real need I think they'll fill it ..  

Also wouldn't change my view on their D just yet Wommack has all those specialty positions to figure out who goes where .. also for how good SO.Bama's D was they broke down a few times vs explosive pass games WKY in the bowl, Tx State, Tulane, LY .. I expect they'll be alot more buttoned up w the talent but def something on the radar .. 

Nick was a " hands on "  Secondary and defensive minded HC. DeBoer is

a HC that relied on his offense . Laying large DD pointspreads early in the

season is likely to be a  somewhat risky proposition. The key may be what

he does thru the portal , but I 'm not sure what to expect from his DC at this time.

In 2024 College Football , we have the following Coaching / Coordinator changes :

30   Head Coaches

60   O. Coordinators

58   D. Coordinators

Many of these are Position coaches who have been elevated to Coordinators.

To all who wager on CFB , you may want to take some time to check out

the resumes  on a number of these prior to placing your bets , especially

those who have been hired to top  tier programs. You may be surprised.

To put all of this in some sort of context , above and beyond all of the

Coaching / Coordinator changes , there are over 3.000 players who

have entered the Transfer Portal for this season , with only about

half of them committed for the current season , with a lot of players

that will be learning new systems in 2024.

Due to health issues , I may not be posting much , during the upcoming

College football season, but I want to give  you this  to think about  , and

I cannot emphasize  this strongly enough.

Follow the Transfer Portal moves very closely , this season they are telling

a story by which way and to what teams 3 star or better players are moving

to. Some teams are losing the depth at key positions that they enjoyed in

years past , and mid tier teams are reaping the benefits . This makes the

the ability to draft meaningful Power ratings to start the season much more

difficult to determine. Through the course of the season , injuries  are likely to

take their toll on teams than have lost many  of their 2's at key positions to

other teams via the Portal , and team depth will  likely become a problem .

There are  plenty of resources to help you to keep up with Rosters and player

movements. This is likely to affect those who play RSW's as well as CFB

Playoff futures  , not to mention following injury reports will likely be much

more important as well. The times continue to change in CFB , and only those

who are willing to make the time and effort to keep up with all of the changes

are likely to profit in the long run. It pays to remember this during the season...

" The harder you work, the Luckier you'll get "  This  is the future of betting

College sports , you might as well get  used to it.

A lot of teams that have new Head Coaches have seen quite a few

defections from their programs via the Transfer Portal .

One more thing to remember about the Transfer Portal going forward.

Player movement is not only a personnel decision for some schools,

It can also be a financial decision as well due to available NIL money ,

and some players dash for cash as well as bad advice from greedy agents.

Almost half of the 3,000 players in the Portal have yet to find a new home,

and  have yet to realize their true value, ( or lack of it ) in the current market.
