2. Power 5 conferences. Is it a good thing? Yes and no, but mostly no. Why? The sport we all love so dearly is made up of traditions and rivalries and all the good in between. I think, no I know, that this will lead to bad things for the sport. As much as we love our teams, we should also respect other teams and traditions. Why? It's what makes up our sport, it's what makes it different and unique. If this thing gives more to rich and less to the poor, count me out. Here at Clemson we have great history and tradition. But that doesn't mean other teams from lesser conferences should be left out. I think the purist of college football agree with me.
3. The end of dominance. The end of the SEC national titles ended this past season but it still doesn't take away that the SEC is still the best overall right now. The SEC deserves credit. But ESPN has had more to do with the hype then anything. All this conference pride makes me sick at my stomach and is IMO, whats bad about " today's " college football fan. Will conference pride matter in the end? LOL. I know this, college football is played everywhere in the country and they're great teams all across the country. Take some time and watch the entire landscape.
4. Will Auburn still have the golden horseshoe up their asss? I'm not sure if they will but I can tell you one thing. I think Auburn will have one of the best offenses this season the college game has ever seen. Top 5 for sure. If Marshall improves ( and I think he will ) with his passing. Auburn will be damnnn near impossible to stop. The biggest question in front of Auburn is the schedule. Have you seen it? It's beyond brutal. @ Kansas st, LSU, @ Miss st, S.C, @ Old Piss, A&M, @ Georgia and @ Bama. Yeah.....Brutal.
5. Can the crab leg stealing QB be great again? Look, the guy was tremendous last season. But his off the field BS is too much. I'm getting to where I can't stand to see the guy smile with that chit eating grin. Do I hate FSU? Yes. But stealing crab legs? Come on man! But seriously, is FSU good? No they're great! The OL is the best in the country and can protect the thief. Will they go undefeated and win it again? History says no, but I think they are certainly good enough too.
6. Did you Florida fans really think I would do a " top 10 " and not include you? How did last season go boys? How about the Jeff Driskel saga? Didn't I tell you about him? How about now? How did you like that 7 game losing streak to end the season? Oh yeah, Georgia mother fukin Southern says hi. Think about that for a minute. Georgia Southern came into the swamp and never even attempted a pass and ran it down your throat. You even had your own guys blocking each other in that game. But there is good news! I do think you will do better this season. 6 wins is on the horizon and possibly 7. But there is even better news then that! Muschump will be gone after this year and sanity will be restored in gainsville.
7. Will Ohio st miss Miller? Yes and yes. Talk about a huge blow to a team. This Ohio st squad was set to make a run into the final 4. They had everything in place. A very and I mean very favorable schedule, one of if not the best dual threats QB's in the country and a great coach. But that is football in a nutshell. One minute you have everything and next the other team is returning the missed FG for a TD.
8. What about this selection committee? I have mixed emotions about a selection committee for several reasons. Why? The human element of course. Will bias play a role into deciding the final 4? Of course it will. Why would it not? Look, here are the facts. We all have with some shape or form a vested interest in things. All things! We do, it's who we are. It's natural. It's human. But what else do we have? A computer to decide? I'll pass. I'll take humans over computers any day of the week. LOL....you think we had issues with the way the BCS was decided? You just wait until around November.
9. Paying players, should we or shouldn't we? Well any of you who know me probably already know my answer. NO and HECK NO! Trust me when I say these players are being "compensated". Look, they eat better then most of us and are getting a free education at university's. I don't know about most of you, but I had to pay for my college education. It's wasn't cheap either LOL! All of this thinking goes back to what I hate the most about today's "new college football" fans. The world and everyone in it thinks it owes them something. Trust me, it owes you nothing! College players are getting everything they need plus more.
10. I have been gone for a year now. The forum seemed to be out of control. I also left for a year because it was the right thing for me to do. I also needed to step away and regain my focus cause I was letting outside things block my vision. Certain members who have been banned also were out to cause problems, I won't mention names ( xxmoney ) I was told by reliable sources. Heck, even people were out creating fake alias pretending to be me on other websites. Why? I'm not sure. It was crazy and I knew it was time for me to walk away. Covers has changed so much since I joined years ago. Either way I hope that the 2014 college football is the best yet. I hope you all do well and stay focused on what's important. To me, as some of you know, winning on bets in college football is secondary. Yes, I have done very well through the years..... But the game itself means the most to me. I love it. I live it 365 days a year and I always will love the game more then money itself. Have a great season men! I might post another " Ten Things " come bowl season.....and don't forget, THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
