the vols defense is beat all to hell...will be starting two players at linebacker who have not played very much....two players in the secondary will be playing with limited experience.. line makes no sense to me..vols should be a pick or a dog on the road.. also have not lost to UK in 25 years or something..im really worried its time..

The difference? Mounting injuries and suspension. Gone from that stretch of superb defensive play is Savion Frazier, Janzen Jackson, and Saturday night LaMarcus Thompson didn't play.

Heading into this week's finale at Kentucky, the injury situation defensively has only worsened. Thompson remains a question mark. Tennessee might or might not get Marsalous Johnson back in the secondary. Jackson remains suspended, while Art Evans is questionable with a shoulder injury and linebacker Greg King is out for the year with a broken elbow that will require surgery.

All in all, Tennessee has eight players who are either out or our questionable for Saturday night's game who are linebackers and defensive backs in the two deep on the depth chart.

Im with you on UT here. Good spot for them to get a much needed win here. UK is not a bad team by any means but i feel like it will be a letdown week for them after that big win last week against UGA.

i&#x27;ve watched several tenn games this year:  florida, georgia, alabama, ole miss, and vandy...  starting with the georgia game, cromptom righted the ship and is now an adequate quarterback.  additionally, hardesty is a stalwart and can be relied upon pretty much every game.  tennessee&#x27;s defense is a MAJOR concern, however.  in the ole miss game, mccluster made them look like a high school team throughout the entire game.  i expected adjustments at half time by the elder kiffen who most revere as a defensive genius, but that didn&#x27;t happen.  tennessee just didn&#x27;t have the athletes to deal with mccluster&#x27;s speed and quickness.  he single handedly dismantled the tennessee defense.  granted, kentucky doesn&#x27;t have anyone near as good as mccluster, but vandy didn&#x27;t exactly struggle moving the ball either.  they were held in check with almost 300 total yards, but i&#x27;m not sure that tells us very much given the state of the vandy football program.  i would normally be all over this game as well, but i&#x27;ve been burned by Tenn in the ole miss and vandy games and am a bit gunshy.  kentucky is a gritty team that just sticks around (i.e. games vs. georgia and auburn).  that&#x27;s just the type of team that could give this Tennessee team problems given their average offense and struggling defense.anyways, that&#x27;s my thought process/analysis of this game.  i&#x27;ll probably lay off the game entirely and then kick myself for missing easy money when Tennessee wins by 17....
