I may have lost $500 bucks on this game and numerous thousands over the last year and more in years past. But I want to thank Oregon and every crazy loss one can imagine, including Green Bay this year, I'm tired of being on the wrong side of crazy loses. There seems to be no variance, always on wrong side, so say I suck or jinxed, it doesn't matter. A few days late but good buy Gambling for one year and maybe forever. When it's neither profitable or enjoyable, it's time to stop. Please don't light me up, but I rather be encouraged by people who partake in the same activity. I've gone years at a time saying goodbye and will be spending time training for marathon rather than studying lines, etc. I hope everyone knocks it out of the park and will repost in one year. God bless and good luck to all

it's a sickness, no one really stops until the resources are depleted, with any addict, as long as someone will supply you with the goods you'll keep going until you're broke or buried.

It's tough to do but I try to bet the same amount every game and only what I can afford to lose and always after bills are Paid for the month. If you can do that, it's a start.

Hang in there brother...tell your bookie to cut your max bet limit and start out small so you can get back in and not get stung early in the process.
No offense (after we hit on St. Mary's) BUT THIS IS NOT the proper reply. "Start Small???" - what does that lead to? Betting Bigger!!.....and What does that lead to? Losing BIGGER !!! I have been a compulsive gambler for close to 36 years and have been in and out for days, weeks, months and years at a time....end result? Lost close to 1/4 Million Dollars or more - thank God I don't have a lifetime tally!I had Michigan this year when the punt got blocked.....I had the Lions when Rodgers heaved the Hail Mary....I had $3,800 (Swing) TD's called back for B.S. phantom calls. I have Lost every way imaginable! What he said above IS SOOoooooo TRUE - When all it produces is LOST MONEY...and HEARTACHE, why do we continue? IT IS AN ADDICTION, The adrenaline rush - like a drug.To my Pal who started the thread, QUIT BROTHER - JUST QUIT - CLOSE ALL ACCOUNTS, THROW OUT THE RECORDS, DISABLE THE INTERNET LINKS, and enjoy your life. Gambling Ruins Lives, Families, Loved Ones......WE ARE ADDICTS and it SUCKS !!! Best of Luck and God Bless You!
Thx Bro, I've hit Rock bottom before and stayed away for years. Been To GA before and will utilize that resource. Thank god I have not hit the low of my past being broke and broken. Lost more than I wanted to. Usually only bet a few hundred max a game but was chasing I do take my physical fitness serious so I will now spend that time competing with myself to get in great shape. I appreciate everyone's response... When it's no fun it's time to stop again. You are right about breaking families,I stopped 12 years ago and started about two years ago. Thank god it doesn't have the same hold on me, but I saw myself going down that road. So in away this game probably saved me thousands, so a great way I have to look at it. This is an addiction, that can take you over quickly, so this pinnacle of shannanigans is a freakin blessing in disguise. Good luck all

Appreciate the responses. I was clean 12 years... Pretty good run. Start one day at a time, rather use money on taking family on vacation.s. It's a lot easier walking away when you realize it's not fun. Love gambling but I know it's time to quit. Good luck.

I've been at Rick bottom and don't want it again. Wish it could be recreational, but can't at this time. Getting out before I lose my wife's trust, etc. not worth it but it will get easier everyday. Hope in one year I say fuck it and stay out another 12 like I did in the past

These posts are so friggin depressing, but what the heck do you guys think this is? this is gambling, but I rather call it an Inversion. It might work or it may not, but if you're hitting bottom you're either:
1. Having bad money management
2. Don't have an strategy
3. You're chasing bets
4. You're not good on picking winners constantly.
Let me tell you something, I have bet on every single game this year both NCAAF and NFL and I have pretty clear that I'm going to lose a lot(some badbeats) but I don't let that affect me over the long term, even on bad streaks, call it Green Bay, Tulsa pick 6, Henry run vs Auburn, i was on the wrong side. Today I had TCU and I now I was lucky, but to me is just a little piece of the puzzle, don't let the game affect you, otherwise you shouldn't be here in the 1st place. GL and see you all back, sooner or later.

Good luck with your marathon training. That takes a lot of self-discipline that should carry over into other aspects of your life.

And to Gentruchi - as to Einstein theory # 4 - I cannot pick winners so......I would like you to provide me with ONE (1) just 1 NFL winner vs. spread today. I will place $1,100 to make a $1,000 on it, cause you're such an EXPERT - Give me your winner so I can get "even" this week.....even though I've lost $13,985 in CASH since September4th
Dude first of all, don't take it personal. I don't wish anything bad to anybody but if losing $500 on a game makes you want to quit is very, drepressing this guy is not made for gambling i've lost a lot too, but instead of crying I analyse what I'm doing wrong and try to improve it, if he wants to quit it's ok but quit gambling might be even harder than quitting drugs, so I instead suggest to be prepared for the time he decides to comeback, we're all gamblers and we have lost at some point.
As for you I'm not an all-in guy, I don't recommend it to you, trying to do that will only get you busted, you'll be failing in points basically all the points a described.
Usually I don't post my picks, I'm hitting almost 55% on NFL and I spread my investments all over the board, so I'm gonna give you my card, I don't suggest picking one single game but to distribute it on as many games as possible but is up to you what you do with your mone. Here it is GL.
NYJ -2½
MIA +10
CIN -9
ATL -5
CLE +12
IND -3½
DAL -3
JAC +5½
DET -2
PHI +3½
CAR -10
OAK +7
SD +10

Roman citizens would go crazy and obsessed with the games, the gladiators and chariots, and they would become addicted to betting on sides. They're all dead now . The games keep citizens entertained. Today is exactly the same scene, names have changed. Games look different. Games were probably better then. I'm gonna stop living for the next game too. Starts today. I'm going to try not form any opinion, hate or dislike or like and favoritism towards any team, player or coach. It's a bad illusion to trip on, and it robs us off prescious time with our children, or family, or simply enjoying a meal or nature or whatever turns you on. It is cynical to turn our backs on the good life, to be a spectator of the forced illusion that he games are organized for us, with stories of winners and losers. I for one wanted to stop at New Years, but watched the organized SEC routs of big12 and big10 cannon fodder playing in the southern bowl games and every game looked staged and orchestrated. I have a business to run and a home to upkeep and children to raise, and that will be my universe. Hope you all do the same as in your universe.

It was not the one game that I lost that brings me to this conclusion to stop. It's the hours of handicapping and seeing more craziness than one should endure. I get its gambling,I get I suck at it. I was able to walk away for 12 years, so I guess my losses spread out over that period are not that bad. Lost about 15k last year and 10k this year, that's all of money to me . Tired of the highs and mostly lows. Would I say I'm addicted... Absolutely... The good news is as I stated before is I didn't need to hit rock bottom. Put myself in a bad situation but now I'm spending time in my other interest. I only wish great luck to all. Need to see less Gambler on Gambler Crime and more guys supporting each other appreciate all the well wishers. Lastly for giggles,I capped a few games, did not call my book... Of course I went 4-0 NBA plays and 3-2 0n NFL, but I won't be sucked in. Actually enjoyed taking kids to movies, instead of watching 8hrs of Foitball. Thx again and good luck
