The Big10 gets way too much credit....

Not counting Ohio State.  Look at how over-rated their "good" teams have been this year. 

PSU is 7-4.  At one point, they were ranked #4.  Oops. 

Iowa is lucky to be 9-2.  At one point, they were ranked #2.  Seriously?  They were the 2nd best team in the country?  When, 1985? C'mon man.

MSU sits at 9-2.  At one point, they were ranked #5.  Maybe only a little over-inflated at the time, but now? Fuggetaboutit.

Now it's Michigan - are they really the 6th best team in CFB?  Really?  I could easily see them getting their A$$es handed to them on Saturday.  I think OSU wins by at least 10.

Too much credit for what? They have 2 elite teams with Ohio state and Michigan.  MSU and Iowa overrated for sure.  Wisconsin is really good. Lowly Penn st has a win over auburn. Minny, Nebraska, Iowa and MSU are all pretty good middle teams.  

Aside from the SEC no other conference can come close to matching that.

If they win? So you’re gonna tell me if Michigan wins then by default Ohio state isn’t a top tier team and the b1g is overrated right? 

I do think Michigan has as good a shot in this matchup as they’ve had in 5 years, but wouldn’t say for a second that Ohio state isn’t an elite team or program if UM does win.  Hell this is the 3rd time in 5 seasons Michigan has essentially had a play in game to the CFP and haven’t gotten it done. They’ve been right there knocking on the door for a while now.  

I don't think Michigan is elite.  I'm not even convinced they are a legitimate top 10 team.  They have 1 solid win against a pretty good team - Wisc.  Other than that, they squeaked out wins against NEB, RUT and PSU, beat up a couple of MAC teams and a notched a few other blowouts against really mediocre Big10 teams.  Their stats are inflated.  I think they get exposed on Saturday.

Lol I mean they can for sure win but that’s some interesting logic considering both Michigan and Ohio state beat Penn st and Nebraska by single digits.  Michigan has played the #1 total defense on the road and won, the top 2 pass defenses in the country and won both games by 20+.  

Did you jump on board during that “get right” stretch after the Oregon loss where OSU trucked Rutgers, Maryland, Akron, Tulsa, and Indiana? They’ve played 2 good teams all year Penn st and Oregon and are 1-1 needing a strip 6 to pull away from penn st if I’m not mistaken.  I think this is going to be a very good game Saturday that could go either way.

big 10 is as good as the sec this season...coming from a big 12 fan. several sec powers down this year and the top sec teams this year are not elite outside of georgia. arkansas, a&m and ole miss are not your typical top of the heap sec teams talent wise...and bama very beatable this year. of course bama and florida and lsu will all be loaded back up pretty quick. but this season i think the big 10 is right there with them. i really like michigan this season...but they always seem to blow it. will be a really interesting game saturday. you could probably honestly say the 2 top teams from each of sec and big 10 would be the 4 best for the playoff...regardless of the outcome saturday. that won't happen tho and i think bama and the loser of this game will be out.

I'll agree with that. Every conference is top heavy but the SEC usually has the better "middle of the pack" teams. This year, there is a significant drop off after Georgia and Alabama. The Big10 should be Ohio St and Michigan but I fear they may prove to be a 1-headed monster of a conference as well. 

10-1 with road wins @ Wisconsin, @ Penn St and an under the lights road win @ Nebraska when everybody picked them to lose.  First 2 are 2 of the top 3 toughest places to play in the B1G in my opinion with the other being OSU.  People still don’t respect how good Wisconsin is.  Saturday is the toughest test but this is one of the 4 or 5 best teams in the country. 

After 11 weeks, there are 3 teams in the entire country that would be favored over Michigan on a neutral field. Not bad for a preseason unranked, “off-season champion,” and overrated every September program

Ohio State had to grind out a win against Nebraska, too. Penn State wasn't that far off either in a night game in Columbus as huge underdogs. They also lost against an overrated Oregon team, who lost to Stanford, Utah, and close against several other bad teams.

They may blow them out, but I don't get this angle. 

So Blue Compass who is elite as a conference? I look at the crud PAC 12 and BIG 12...woof. Who have any of these teams beaten other than Oregon's early win against Ohio State(by the way OSU would beat them by 35 now). ACC is a joke. I absolutely think the BIG 10 is the best conference in football this year. We will see come bowl season who does damage. I wouldn't want to play Michigan, Wisconsin, MSU, PSU, Iowa, Minnesota, or even Purdue. I give them all a fighters chance with anyone other than Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State. They don't play flashy 55-52 two hand touch games like other conferences. They actually smash each other and many of them are really beat up from playing this type of game. Every team I mentioned above would have a great shot of making the conference championship games in every conference not named the SEC and if they didn't have Georgia or Alabama they would have a shot there too. Just my two cents.
