The officiating cost Georgia the game.

Question

I&#x27;m not trying to take anything away from how well Tua and the rest of the Alabama freshman played in that 2nd half, but Georgia blocked a punt that was called back bc of an offsides penalty.  Upon further review it was obvious that the play shouldve stood setting up Georgia up in the redzone.  The 2nd missed call was an obvious face mask penalty, which wouldve gave Georgia a 1st down at midfield, instead Alabama got a short field and had a TD drive... Idk how the officials could blow such important  calls.  It&#x27;s unfortunate the refs played such a large role in the outcome of the game..

It was brutal and no one will talk about it because the two freshman from Bama came in and balled out. I gotta say I was harping about the officiating all game until the kid Tua just kept making great plays. At some point Georgia had to just make a stop. They completely blew the coverage. Not just one guy but two.

Was a bad job officiating, no doubtBama was beneficiary of majority of no calls... blocked punt should have counted....facemask missed....Bama corner slamming Fromm&#x27;s head into ground after making tackle,  which drew no flag....Only bad call I seen in Georgia&#x27;s favor was the receiver who&#x27;s heel was on the line, that after review, stood as a touchdownOverall, a terrific game...  I love Kirby and the job he has done at Georgia...and even though I am a Bama fan... I feel bad for the Dawgs, because they played their hearts out

On the blocked punt....&#xA;The CORRECT call was a false start on Alabama.&#xA;So even if GA wasn&#x27;t offside, the play should have been blown dead because of the false start.  So if there was perfect officiating on that play, it wouldn&#x27;t have been a blocked punt anyway.

Bottom line is Bama grabbed momentum and dawgs couldn&#x2019;t seize it back. Very conservative play calling in second half, coupled with bamas D adjusting to UGA play calling and the crumble began. Referees certainly played a part but weren&#x2019;t the sole reason for the loss, but any one of those calls could&#x2019;ve swung momentum back, but we will never know.

On the blocked punt a Bama player moved. They would have called the false start moved them 5 yards back they punt the ball. GA&#x2019;s play calling was wacked late in the game. Why do you like up your RB behind center on your 5 yard line. Uhh I wonder if it&#x2019;s a run? Makes no sense.

I still haven&#x27;t heard anyone say what a brilliant coaching move that Saban made at halftime- I can&#x27;t think of any other coach in that position(down big at halftime of a natty game) who would bring in a freshman qb and ride him the rest of the game- especially after he threw that interception- I thought for sure Hurts would reenter that game after that point- Saban has shown over the years he will make adjustments and change with the times- instead of smash mouth, they come out in the second half and throw the ball around like the are Texas Tech University- you could tell Georgia was shell shocked- that probably comes from watching tape of the Oklahoma and Mizzo games- I told lots of people that Oklahoma would be very successful throwing the ball as Mizzo was(until Georgia made adjustments)- many thought I was crazy but the Bulldogs secondary was the achilles heel- -they just weren&#x27;t exposed much all year because their front 7 was so good- being and LSU fan, I despise Saban but respect the heck out of him and think he is the greatest college coach ever

Al, that&#x27;s 2 calls that were unfortunate for Georgia.  1 of those calls.....the blocked punt.....should have been called false start on Alabama.  So, you&#x27;re saying that 1 missed call cost the Dawgs this game?  That&#x27;s BS.  They seemed to be "coached" in the 2nd H to "try and hold on".  It&#x27;s not what got them there.  Georgia simply got out coached.  Especially what blowoutgm noted:  What coach puts in a true Freshman and sticks with him throughout the remainder of that game?  Saban is......the BCOAT!

You are asleep yourself. I highly doubt you could be on the field and as fast as the game goes get every call correct. It happens. It doesn&#x27;t mean each and every time it happens there is some huge fix in on a game. Today&#x27;s TV&#x27;s are amazing along with replays, etc, it easy to see after the fact.
