Honestly, I didn't think the line would jump to 5...I thought the line would move back to 3.5 before moving to 4.5 or 5. I have such a large wager on the Sooners at +4 that any line movement from this point forward is irrelevant to me. I'm not going to try and middle or hedge. I'll ride my original bet to a victory.

Thanks for the post pal. As I mentioned, I have a bit of money on the game already. If I thought the public would have pounded the number up to 5 or even 6 by kickoff, obviously, I wouldn't have jumped on the Sooners at 4. It was a mistake on my behalf to bet early but I already felt that I was getting a great number since I actually think the Sooners will win outright. If I wasn't betting large, I would've played the ml but I want the security of 4 points which is a huge number from a betting standpoint. Hypothetically, if I wait and make another play on the Sooners at +6 or buy a point at +7 and Florida does win by more than a TD...my money mgmt will have been undisciplined. I would rather middle with the Gators at +6 or +7 than make another play on the Sooners. But as I've stated, I think the Sooners will win outright so I'm only playing my original bet.

If I had made my bet with less money, I probably would have kept my options open for 2nd half online betting which would include 3Q and 4thQ plays. But I've budgeted my money to make one play only for this game. If I win, I'll be in great shape for the '09 year. If I lose, then I will only have lost a fair percentage of my bankroll which is house money from the '08 season.
