Hey boys, I'm sure many of you will argue and that's your right.... But with UCF going undefeated, beating a very good Auburn team (which beat Alabama) and not have a chance to at least compete for the national playoffs is kind of sad. I know there are people who will say, where does it stop if you go to 8 what about 12? In my opinion, there are never that many teams who actually have a legitimate chance to win a national championship past the top 4. However, this year you had Auburn, Ohio State, UCF, some might argue Wisconsin or Penn St.
To all the UCF fans, heck of a season and bowl win...

I think we will see an 8 tm playoff eventually. That being said I dont think Auburn was really all that up for todays game. Heres the only team in the country to have played 3 playoff teams, beating 2 of them when they were number 1 and nearly beat clem on the rd and theyre stuck playing an AAC team in the peach bowl. UCF on the other hand had all the motivation in the world, playing for the undefeated season and taking down an SEC giant. It is what it is.

Except UCF wouldn't have made an 8 team playoff because they finished the year ranked 12...
Good point which is even more disappointing in our ranking system. I'm an advocate for each major conference champion representing 5 spots and the other 3 would be random.

This Auburn team today was a hollogram of the team from their nice little "home field" magical run...the truth is they beat both Alabama and Georgia on their home field...and in college football, thats a HUGE advantage...now on a neutral field, different story...they get pumped by Georgia, and now lose to a non power 5 conf team....UCF was a nice team this year, hats off to them...however, UCF got a favorable bowl selection and they should be grateful they didnt face Ohio St, who would have likely beat them by 20+ and put a damper on their great season...today was more about how overrated Auburn was than how good UCF was.

Except we're seeing that beating bama & Georgia may not mean all that much. If their HC can't get them up for a NYD bowl then that's on him.
thorpe......if they give the GO5 a spot like the BCS then they would've been in......just like the Peach bowl today. But of course someone would still be biitchin about being left out.

Packer - agree with you on home field being a huge advantage. I'm not sure UCF gets mopped by Ohio State (maybe, maybe not) but the fact the little guy has a chance with the season they had... Isn't that why people like watching the NCAA hoops?
I do think UCF was good enough to beat the top programs on any given day and today you saw that for whatever reason...

Agreed. UCF vs Okie game would be wild. Georgia getting embarrassed here. This defense was talking a big game about wanting to face a 100% healthy baker Mayfield and shut him down and they are getting torched by Anderson. Baker hasn’t even hinted at running yet (no need even if he cannot). If Georgia found an answer to the RB, Mayfield would torch him with his legs if need be. I was so wrong on this game assuming Georgias front line could apply pressure and make mayfield uncomfortable.
Good luck all.
