Interesting game for the Bruins tonight. I'm an eternal pessimist when it comes to UCLA football, so I've been waiting for the shoe to drop for them all season. I'm not buying into the hype by any stretch of the imagination. Been there, done that before with this UCLA program. If anything, I think I am a realist when it comes to Bruin football, and what a better spot to come crashing back down to reality for UCLA than a nationally televised game against a top 15 opponent on the road where UCLA is favored by more than a field goal?
So why am I hesitant to pour money on ASU plus the points? Two reasons: (1) Hundley's game time status, and (2) Mike Bercovici having his first college start on national television against a defense that, production aside, at least has "talent" and pretty good athletes.
Best play on the board, in my opinion, is the OVER 60.5 in this game. Although ASU only gave up 24 points on the road to Colorado last week, Colorado put up an impressive 545 total yards including 232 on the ground. If Colorado has no trouble moving the ball on the Sun Devils, then the Bruins should be able to put up points without too much trouble tonight. On the flip side, this UCLA defense has been OK, but how OK is your defense when you give up 469 yards of total offense to Memphis?
In the last four years that these two teams have played, they have put up a total of 71, 88, 57, and 89 points on the board. No real reason in my mind to expect anything different tonight, should be a shoot out.
OVER 60.5 (-110) for 2 units is my play. I'll be rooting for a UCLA win obviously but I am definitely not expecting one here.

Colorado moved the ball at will in the 2nd half last week. I am hesitant to make a play because of Bercovici. He looked lost in the 4th quarter. I understand that he will have had all the reps in practice this week. But if he is a stiff.........It will not matter.
If Hundley plays......I am all in on UCLA.
Good Luck.

From a Sun Devil himself. Losing kelly is without a doubt a HUGE blow. He is a duel threat and the chemistry he has with Jaelen Strong is going to be missed tremendously and cant be match with Bercovici under center. Let me remind you tho that Strong is a top 5 WR in the country and will present mismatches all night. You also have Foster who is 8th in the country in rushing and is an all-purpose machine. Berc has a big arm and likes to gun it so we should be able to move the ball. The offensive line is great. While the defense is young we have some solid LBs. No mistakes on special teams which usually seems to be the problem during prime time games and we should be fine. If Hundley doesn't play ASU will easily get this win. If Hundley does play they need to be able to move the ball and pressure Hundley. UCLA has an awful O-line. With the environment and all the weapons the Sun Devils have I see a 38-27 win in the BLACKOUT out in tempee!

I saw Bercovici played the second half against Colorado last week and GOD DAM that kid sucks. He was horrible and could not lead a drive. There was more 3 and outs than kids in a candy store. I can not play this game until I have seen enough from this QB... Again he is just horrible.....

Arizona St has only two returning starters on defense, and it shows. Part of the reason UCLA has looked so disappointing this year is two of their oponents Memphis and Virginia are waaay better than expected. I wish you luck but I would never bet an over with a rookie starting his first game at quarterback. Hundley is hurt and he is having a mediocre year even when healthyy. His back up looked great against Texas so I'm betting small on UCLA.
