Not really, Oregon only had 2 timeouts left. they did not call one after 1st down because they couldn't. If Oregon stops them on 2nd, they call a timeout, and then after 3rd. They get the ball back with 20+ seconds. They call one on 1st and the game is over and OSU can kneel. If you watch the ESPN2 broadcast with the Dan Mullen, Mike Reilly, Derek Mason and Narduzzi  all agreed OSU had to run a play.

I think this was classless move on his part. The game is won, no need to do that. Show some humility.

Football is changing, and a lot of coaches nowadays will tack on an extra TD if they can.

When you are up two TDs it is arguably as safe a call to tack on the third TD than kneel it down.

If you do kneel it down, who is to say Oregon doesn't try to take a cheap shot at your QB, like Kansas St did to Hundley?

And wouldn't Oregon have tacked on an extra TD or three if they had the chance to?

But most importantly, Urban Meyer is the guy who called a timeout to kick a FG to beat Miami by 23 (spread was 22) so if you have been watching football for more than a year or two you'd know what Urban was about.

Pete Carroll punted down 15 with 7 minutes left from midfield.  I guess he is a "coward"?   Real football is not the same game as Madden.
