BYU offensively with Taysom Hill at QB is dynamic. Granted his first game was against hapless Hawaii. The offense did looked recharged and efficient. There is speculation that Riley Nelson may play and if he does, as long as he's healthy the offense will be in good shape. Last year Nelson came off the bench at Utah St and fired the Cougars to victory so I'm confident he can get the job done. On the other side of the ball Bronco Mendenhall's defense sports probably the best defense in BYU school history. Behind upperclassmen leadership and Van Noy it is virtually impossible to move the ball against them as they rank 5th in the nation. Ask a traditionally explosive Boise St's offense or Mike Leach's Air Raid how tough they are. Now Utah St's QB Chuckie Keeton will certainly test this defense tonight but with all the experience on BYU's defense as well as playing against him last year I dont see Chuckie having a huge game. What I believe to be overrated in this game is the Utah St. defense. This team has played 4 weak offensive teams in Whisky, Col St, Unlv and Utah so I am not impressed at all with that top 20 in the nation ranking. Dont get me wrong though they are at times tough but I believe away on the road here they will struggle. Alot of people are putting too much emphasis that Utah St beat Utah and BYU lost to Utah so Utah St is better than BYU. Well guys thats a horrible way to think, every game and scenario is different. BYU has the talent advantage, coaching advantage and home field advantage and tonight in Provo I expect a two touchdown victory for the Cougars. This will be my largest play to date.
