A Nebraska fan posted here a few weeks ago that Nebby would be favored by 12-14 & it would be a lock..........I grabbed the Dawgs @ +17.5.
The Huskies have struggled on the road........but have improved. I believe if they have a similar game plan as in the Holiday Bowl they can cover this. Martinez can run but thats all he can do..........can't read a D or throw much but can break one at any time.
Price looks to be promising, albeit vs less than stellar comp.........Polk is close to 100%........ they have two outstanding TE's now vs LY when they had none.....Husky D is better but it's hard to tell as they played vanilla in both games so far.
I like Pelini but I feel Sark is actually a better gamer......

Price is actually one of the top 15 rated qb's in cfb right now.........not by yards but by qb rating (around 185 I read somewhere.......7/1 417 yds). He's more of a pocket qb but can be elusive ........seems to be getting more comfortable every game. But like I said, they haven't played anyone yet. But his accuracy is better than I wouldve imagined right now.

Neb is a hard team to cap imo. They crushed Washington last season and outplayed them in every aspect of the game. Then they lose in the bowl season to washington; very ironic. Neb a large fav a home is an auto fade for me. Gl on w/e you pick.

Hate to say it, but I have a bit on Nebby here.....think they really load up against Polk and make Price try and beat them....you know we have the WR/TE to make some serious noise if he has composure enought to hang tight and make the throws.....I just don't think he will get it done.....that pick return in the 2nd Q last week shook him up a bit I think, and if things go south early the dawgs could be in for a long, long day......not sure I love our young LBs against this Nebby rushing attack either........I think Nebby hangs up 45 on us....going to be tough for us to get to 28 in my opinon........all the motivation with Nebby....and the Nebby team speed will show up on the fast turf (this isn't the slow track in San Diego)......hope I'm wrong...GL this weekend bro

Stay away my friend...I'm from nebraska and watch their games pretty closely...we're very young (though talented) and just haven't started clicking...if things go well in the first half...i'd pound the 2nd half. Plus we're looking to get a lil revenge for our terrible performance in the bowl game last year....i'd say this game stays around 9-12

I understand your thoughts...........I still have nightmares of Martinez running down the sideline. But what I saw vs Fresno was...........Nebby aint the same team as LY. Sure, they're still very talented, & yeah, they probly played vanilla vs Fresno......but they dont have the same D as LY........& they dont have the same dominance up front. The same GP as the HB may work here........force them to throw..........gives the Dawgs a decent shot.
This will be an emotional; game IMO........& you could be right. But I can't 2nd guess Sark anymore. I think they'll show up.

Personaly in my opinion, I am leaving this game alone... I think Washington can cover spread...but and it is a large but..if Washington falls behind early Washington may just cash it in because next week their reagular season starts and they will give their regs rest....

Washington is catching Nebraska in a touch spot right now. They feel like they lost last week. And I know for a fact the bowl game has left a sorry taste. But you gotta be crazy to bet on that Nebraska offense right now. So very young.
Polk had success in that bowl game because Baker Steinkuhler, their 6'6" 320 DT and without question a vital cog in their run defense a year ago was suspended and did not play. And it showed. That was fluke plain and simple.
I'm not worried about Polk. I'm worried about that huge Samoan that goes about 350 up front for Washington and owned Nebraska's front 3 all night in that bowl game. Our C is small only goes about 6'2" 280ish. And isn't a road grader. Our RG only started playing offense this Fall but has proven to be the best run blocker so far. On the left side you got a talented sophmore but untested. And they might even try a senior walk on who doesn't move well but is the road grader type. We'll see. But this is by far the key matchup of the game IMO. I think Nebraska will try hard to run right at him in hopes of opening Martinez on the outside. They have to do that. You pound it inside to keep them honest. We'll see how it goes. If Nebraska can't run inside, they will be in trouble.
Sark knows a shitload about how Bo plays defense. His defensive coordinator Nick Holt was brought up with Pete Carroll and Monte Kiffin exactly the same as Pelini. They are very familiar. I could see a low scoring game actually. Washington will not put up a lot of points. Sark is a proven game planner but Bo is no slouch either. They have a lot of mutual respect. And Sark has stated publicly he has tried to use some of what Bo has done at Neb in his own program.
The Blackshirts are very angry right now. No press all week, they know how pathetic they looked against Fresno. Bo's media session was 2 minutes long today. And he answered 13 questions....That is very telling. And in the past has proven to be a prelude to defensive execution under the Pelini regime. He doesn't fuck around.
I like the game staying under 55, as I'm betting the Blackshirts show up and will fade their offense. I won't bet on Neb until they show me they can cover first. Too much inexperience on offense, its all freshmen and sophmores for the most part. Plus a rookie OC only calling his 3rd game ever with a brand new offense...
Some facts mixed in with some opinionated analysis
Good luck on your wager

what's happening my friend....tough one to get a read on....obviously Neb looking for payback....probably comes down to containing Martinez (not able to run due to bad ankle as I recall in bowl)...if UW can do that they should be tough...huskers thin and young on OL and another injury...looks like possible korean walk-on may start
GL this week mugg

Martinez let this team up when he was healthy a year ago. In the bowl game, his team wasn't behind him, they weren't motivated, and Martinez was hurt.
Nebraska overlooked Fresno St last week.. Possibly overlooking to a Wash beat down? I think so.
I will probably only play 2 .. maybe 3 Nebraska plays all season. This game.. Wisconsin game.. and then if i find value in any others. I've stated the past few weeks that if Wisc is favored by 3 or less at home when Nebr comes in, I will be playing Wisc.. Big.
I've had this game high lighted as well, anything under 20.5 I am playing Nebr. Nebr wins this game by 28+ & Wash will be held to 14 or less points. I'm not saying go BIG on Nebr, I have 2 units on them (5 units is my max). But, i'd definately avoid the total bet. Nebr has the ability to put up 50 points, this team definately has the speed and talent to do so.
Also, look for the blackshirts to shut Wash down early. This game will get nasty

A huge no play for me. Under normal conditions I would take UW here, but with the sour taste of the bowl game I can't bet against Nebraska at home.
I said before Price is a great QB to watch, very undervalued, will not miss Jake Locker. I do think UW misses Mason Foster this game, I may be wrong but I think he was the defensive MVP in the Holiday bowl.
This is a game to watch from a true fans prospective as Sark and Bo are 2 of the best young coaches is the game. I like Nick Holt as well. I just hope he doesn't leave the program to take a head coaching job at a place like Idaho or Montana St.

Blackshirt posted a few weeks ago that this would be a 11-13 pt. spread & that it would be his POY............I agreed that anything under 14 would be a NP for me.........17.5 was enough.
Good reads by both......
