Actually Toledo NEEDS a win tonight because 6-6 MAC teams dont get invites to bowl games...those invites go to 6-6 Big Ten and Big East teams. Toledo needs to be 7-5 to go bowling

Regarding Toledo's motivation; this quote from Toledo Football Website:

" The Rockets (4-5, 2-3 MAC) are a longshot for a MAC West Division title but still have much to play for, namely:

1. Bowl eligibility. A 6-6 record makes you bowl eligible. Northern Illinois, for example, made a bowl game last year with a 6-6 record.

2. Winning record. Toledo's seniors have not finished the season with a winning record in their careers. Obviously, they'd like to change that. A win at CMU would make that a possiblity.

3. Pride. The CMU game is nationally televised. The Rockets would like to show their fans that they are not giving up on this season. "
