*bad title maybe Nickey D......"actual lines".....may have thrown some
But you guys never heard of LVSC?....a firm that supplies (recommended) numbers to say 90% of casinos? ....this is probably not them but same kinda deal.....their numbers (usually out at Vegas Insider.com Sundays around 3-4:00p)....are often way off those released.....but they do give you an educated guess of what they might...or should be
And if this is LVSC.....and ol' Nicky D is hanging with Kenny White and the boys....pay very close attention here ....
The impediment to action advances action - what stands in the way becomes the way.

This could be...
the strangest reaction to a thread ever....

Bookie... that's exactly the problem, was very bad title... and also the fact that it was a follow-up to other posts, i believe...
assuming these are valid, they are LVSC lines, just like you said... but those are always available to everybody by the time the lines come out anyway... so the only value here is if we decide that the LVSC lines are better than the books lines... which, in my experience, is not the case...
in fact, even if you look at the SS that was posted by Nickey on the last page, showing week 1 results from last year, the lines by LVSC did not provide better "guesses" than the books...
but i'm still a bit skeptical if they are LVSC lines, because i find it hard to believe that LVSC is suggesting that Tennessee is a pk against NCSt, or MSU is roughly a pk against Boise, especially given the fact that 5Dimes and Golden Nugget (among others) have those lines around a TD apiece...
i can assure you, the posted lines on those games are much better "guesses" than the LVSC lines, if that is the case...

You are right, better title should have been, week 1 actual suggested lines given to the casinos, my bad, but i explained what these lines were in this thread 3 or 4 times and people don't get it, these are from the consultant firm that supplies suggested lines to the casinos, I don't have interest Pr time to make them up or to lie, just sharing some inside info...

it's better than nothing at this point...90% of the sides look reasonable and it helps confirm guesses on totals as well...which are more difficult to predict than sides, at least for me

this is true... i wouldn't even venture a guess on totals for most games, so at least it is a starting point on what to expect...

I have worked for a major sportsbook in Nevada for many years. Some of you on here know me and know my position. My questions about these lines are that there are about 50 games missing that have lines out when these come out and the book I work for has almost 200 books in nevada and we have never and never will use an outside source for lines. All our lines are made inhouse.
I am not saying these lines are not used by a few books in nevada (mostly independents I would guess), but we do not use an outside source and we control almost 200 books just in nevada.

@RealScififan---lol, do you really think that major sportsbooks have time or resources to keep up with all the injuries, weather, suspensions...that go on with sports? That's why they pay consulting firms to do that for them and send them what they suggest should be the line and the line is made by the sportsbook manager and released...
"In business since 1982, Las Vegas Sports Consultants, Inc. (LVSC), the world's largest oddsmaking company, blends online technology with personal service to provide odds and pointspreads to all major Las Vegas and international sports books. The LVSC consensus line remains the most valued commodity for sports gaming all over the world.

Of course I know who the Las Vegas Sports Consultants are. I know most of the people working for them and have known them for almost 30 years when some of them worked with me at the old Startdust line when we put out the lines before anyone else.
They work with many books in Nevada. But I also know that we have almost 200 books in Nevada and we do not use them. Every number from our books comes in house.
