ASU will surprise people this year, including at OSU on Saturday. I think ASU is an 8-win football team after watching them against NAU. The defense is very athletic. The offensive line is better than anticipated with lots of size. The LT for ASU will play in the NFL. Emory Jones is an effective game manager at quarterback and is a plus athlete and serves as an additional running back. Swinson, the TE, is enormous at 6'8 and he moves like he's 6'3 and is also a punishing run blocker. Nobody is giving ASU a chance against OSU, even though OSU is starting 8 new players on defense and lost their coordinator. OSU and NC State are the two most overrated teams in the AP 25 right now. I think both are 8-win football teams. I was on CMU +21.5 vs OSU last week. OSU has some problems on defense that will hinder them. Also, OSU cannot run the ball well. They will be in several shootouts this year, but my view is that Sanders is the same QB from last year, but now he doesn't have a run game. Herm Edwards will slow this game down, and I don't think OSU will be able to have many explosive plays on offense. I think this goes to the wire even though the game is in Stillwater. Reminds me a lot of when Herm Edwards went into Michigan St in 2019 and came out with a surprising win.

I agree...Herm will take them to the limit and cover if not win outright...chip on their shoulders...It would have been better had OSU not let up on CMU...and they scored 30 unanswered, and covered...GL

Thx, Train. I'm not being a homer about ASU. I really believe they made some huge upgrades via the transfer market. Okie St is not the 11th ranked team in the country. They have some serious issues on defense. And I believe ASU will exploit these areas. Emory Jones is very underrated. I think this is a one possession football game late in the 4th. Also, look at the size discrepancy between the ASU secondary (they are huge and long) vs the diminutive Okie St WRs. This will matter. My biggest concern in this game is the legit front four for Okie St. These guys are good. If ASU can't run the ball they can't win this game. But I think the larger personnel packages for ASU which will include a Fullback (yes the position still exists) and Swinson the 6'8 TE will bolster ASU's run game. I think Swinson will play in the NFL. He was underutilized at Mizzou and he's nimble, huge, fast, and run blocks well.

Good info on your devils as I know very little about this team. Anyone that watched all of the OSU game against CMU last week could see a team that pulled their foot off the gas when up 44-15 at half. We played 24 different players on defense as Derik Mason is trying to see what players fit best. Granted our defense did lose a few horses last year, anyone thinking they wont be able to pressure the qb and start controlling the line of scrimmage will sorely be mistaken. Like last year we had a slow start then kicked it in gear, that could be the case here as well. I will say if the Spencer Sanders that showed up last week against CMU shows up again this week, then OSU will have no problem covering.

I'm a big fan of Gundy and think he represents the best form of college football. But I think the Achilles heel for OSU to replicate last year's success will be the defense. Just too much turnover, and the D had some legit NFL guys last year. Your defensive line terrifies me though. They are every bit as good as last year. I think we will know in the first quarter how competitive this game will be. If ASU can run the ball OSU might be in trouble. Again, I will stress the size and athleticism of the ASU secondary. These guys are huge at every position between CB and the safeties. Watch out for someone that nobody is talking about yet... Chris Edmonds, Safety for ASU. He transferred from Samford where he was an all American at the FCS level. He's 6'2 215 lbs and runs like a deer. I think he also plays in the NFL. Will be tough for ASU to win this game outright, but I do believe they cover and it's a very close game. Gundy is great in close games though, but I'll be on that +345 ASU money line. I'm still not a believer in Spencer Sanders. He will cost you one or two games this year. And I think OSU will have challenges running the ball this season. You'll miss Warren at the RB spot. That guy was good - despite what I think was a pretty average Oline last year run blocking wise. Good luck on Saturday brother.
