I wouldn't call VMI a top FCS Offense (or a top FCS anything else).  They are wretched.  Played one ranked team last year and scored 7.  Played two D1 teams and scored 7 and 14.  No, Ball's performance really is as bad as it looked.

Thanks for doing this every week, by the way.  Very helpful.

WEEK 2 ideas....

As always....avoid overreacting...to what you saw week 1

WHY...do we do this?

SIMPLE...a cognitive 'laziness'.....maybe
  *searching for EASY / FAST answers...making it easy for us to understand > saving a BUNCH of work
   $  note:  with rare exception...teams DO NOT change much year to year / and esp. week to week

       DECIDE WHO THEY ARE...don't ride that SILLY emotional roller coaster as the season progresses....this will put you WAY AHEAD of the game......if you had an (INFORMED) opinion.... before the season began....don't let one game override your research on a given team's identity
         * look for 'clues'...that suggest you might be wrong sure (not SCORES necessarily) but stats that 'transfer"....like OL / DL play.).
yds/play.....Football Outsiders stuff (O & D efficiency / ST play / use of field position etc.)


NOTRE DAME?....POOF!....they're awesome all of a sudden?     
  *wait...just last week they were OVERRATED / Kelly can't coach......wtf
How about doing some work....figuring out WHY they had a few down years (inj/susp ++)
  *CORRECT....it's EASIER / MORE FUN...to throw out drunken bar talk.....they were NEVER that bad....most likely not THAT GOOD either
