despite my opening remarks... i am looking at some dogs... i usually jump on favs when lines pop up, but later in the week i start to see a few good dogs that stand out...
looking at: West Va, Ball St, Bos Coll, Ga Tech, Utah, Mich St, Kent, Idaho, Utah St, Buffalo... all of those are looking good... gotta narrow it down... should be some good MLs in there...
also looking at So Miss and SMU...

GT sucks and I would not be able to trust WVU against a decent opponent on the road against a packed house in Auburn waiting to pay them back for last year. GT stomped Miami last year with that option, but who knows in the ACC. BC may be a good dog depending how they can stop the run.

yea, never know with a game a team has to win is the only negative. Sometimes teams like that have enough that when it finally starts clicking, they can beat a team like that by 17 or more..

trying to lock in my elite 8: YTD 7-8 ATS... i like this... means there is still value in jumping on board now...
1) Florida (2-0)
2) USC (1-1)
3) Texas (0-2)
4) Alabama (1-1)
5) Penn St (0-2)
6) Cal (1-0)
7) Va Tech (1-1)
8) Okla St (1-1)
i'm sure some people are down on Okie St, but they lost to a very good Houston team, and had a bunch of really flukey plays in that game...
1) Houston gets an onside kick recovery when the kicker hits a bullet at the front line that ricochets back to the Houston front line...
2) 4th and goal down 35-31, OSU defender breaks up the play, only to have it deflect up into the air and get caught by a Houston player to take the lead...
3) following series, Robinson fires a bullet to Dez Bryant, who pulls up with a cramp, tips the pass into the air, Houston defender intercepts and returns it into the endzone...
not to mention Kendall Hunter got hurt in the 1st quarter, and OSU had 3 other TO's in the game... just a very misleading score... and this was a letdown game, against a very underrated Houston team...
so i'm sticking with them at #8...
other teams on the radar, in case somebody goes belly-up and i have to switch out: Ol Miss, LSU, Boise, Oklahoma, Ga Tech
any of these could show me something to change the top 8...

Ice - like the card. Best of luck - but a question on the 1st game - Florida vs. Tenn (you are sold on the fact that Tenn has nothing on either side of the ball to keep this under the number? I agree - Tenn looks terrible especially after last week's demoralizing loss to UCLA (AGAIN) but Crompton is a decent QB. Perhaps the Vols were looking ahead to this game and forgot about a semi-talented UCLA team.. Any thoughts on Kansas St at UCLA with their QB Prince out with a broken jaw? I guess they have a true freshman or senior behind Prince but.... just a thought.. Line is 12 for KState?
A Dog or a dog with flea's!

Also, as a follower of FSU(+7) at BYU - I don't see how the Noles after two lackluster performances can travel West for a prime time game, plus having to deal with the altitude, stadium/fans and cover the spread. For christ sakes - the Noles almost lost to Jacksonville St.. Are you kidding me? Also, I read they are playing their 3rd game in 13 days or something like that - they are a tired bunch and BYU isn't Miami (Ohio) or some MAC team... I hate to say it but me thinks FSU loses by 10pts+...

I wouldn't say that the first game was lack luster and I think J-State could have been a classic sandwich game also. It's no excuse cuz they are Div. II, I know. I was at the BYU/OU game though and BOTH teams looked very slow too me. BYU is clearly a small team, but Max Hall is definitely a pimp. I think speed wins out easily here though. FSU has so much more speed on both sides of the ball and BYU doesn't have the size to overpower FSU. Btw...I also like Miami(FL) to beat OU. I was really shocked at how slow OU was

Ca$h... regarding Tennessee... i know sometimes teams look ahead... but if you can't beat UCLA at home even when you are looking ahead, then you are gonna get your ass kicked by Florida... that's my take... Tennessee was garbage last year, and until i see them beat a remotely decent team, i am under the impression they are still garbage... if they thought UCLA was tough to score against at home, wait 'til they see the Gators in Gainesville... besides, just bet on Florida every week... you'll win money!
regarding K St-UCLA... tough game to figure... i like Bill Snyder, and expect at some point he will get more out of KSt than we ever saw Ron Prince get out of them... UCLA has a strong defense, but i would lean towards K St... FSU-BYU is also tough... line sure does seem to invite BYU money, based on what we've seen... i'm not sold on BYU being anything special... they got a bit of a lucky win against an OU team that has serious O-line issues... but i'm not sold on FSU either... i really don't like the game...
amd... should be a good week!

Florida is head and shoulders above everyone... i will most likely bet them every single week regardless of the lines... more worried about USC, Tx and Penn St this week... but i agree looks like a 7-1 or 6-2...
looking at some 1H lines:
PSU (-17.5)
Kan (-13)
Ohio St (-12.5)
Fla (-17)
Cal (-7)
Ok St (-19.5)
Baylor (-6.5)
AF (-10)
Tx Tech (-10)

as i pointed out, Ol Miss, LSU, Boise are on the outside looking in...
but as i also pointed out, Houston is much better than people are giving them credit for (possible BCS buster team), and that game was extremely misleading...
Ok St stays in the top 8... but Ol Miss is right there...
thanks Bustin... i like that shot, too! nice job snagging Pimp's old avatar, by the way...
