Disclaimer, as an alum, I have an inherent bias towards the Vols but attempt to look at the game as a gambler and not a fan.
There are a few reasons Vols look so poor early in the season, but I believe most of it centers around poor offensive line play (and the look ahead to UF...and yes all three games TN was looking ahead to UF). Publicly there has been a lot of attention to the key players on Def that TN has lost (3 of the 4 best players on Def: CB, MLB, and OLB), but the most important player that returned last week was OL Chance Hall.
If you look at TN's opponents first 4 games at sacks and TFL:
Appy state: 2 sacks and 5 TFLs
VaTech: 2 sacks and 7 TFLs
Ohio: 3 sacks and 8 TFLs
UF: 1 sack and 1 TFL
Although the game against UF was an all too long awaited victory, and I worry about the letdown, the coaches have to have enough sense to get the team focused on UGA. Next games are @ TAMU and Bama @ home. If TN loses to UGA, could lose 3 in a row.
TN will be ready to play this game. Does that equal a covering win....that I do not know, UGA may come to play too. This is a must win for both teams if they want to win the SEC East.
nice points Mr P...........
Vols have to be super confident now....and maybe play better / feel less pressure on the road......... *Georgia?.....beat up and reeling from a savage azz whoopin'.... I don't see them in bounce-back mode here....I like the match-up of the Tenn defensive front vs the Georgia OL / freshman QB....
Could be wrong....and if so I will either.... * of course ....leave Covers forever *and / or....date white chicks....my own age......
good man natcanada.....BOL this week...............

Thanks for the insight BA, you're the best on covers, especially during Bowl Season... Two little tidbits, 1. Michigan is the only team to open the season with 5 home games, Wisconsin is at Michigan, and -10 might seem like a lot, but teams are 6-0 SU & ATS in game 5 of a 5 game home stand. I know it might not mean anything, but not only are the home teams undefeated in game 5, they've also all won by at least 14 points.... I'm going to roll with Michigan, I think both the public and the rest of college football initally underestimated Wisconsin. I dont think LSU, or Sparty took them as seriously as they should have, I also dont think either of those teams are as good as we initally predicted. I feel good playing Michigan, as well as USC...
When you talked about the Clemson game, you mentioned the end of 2015.,, Clemson made a great run, but LJ was just getting comfortable playing QB at the end of the regular season, but by the time the bowl game rolled around Louisville dominated Texas A&M. A&M has looked great so far this season, and they were really LJ's first victim. I want to take Clemson, but their defense lost several quick twitch players and were replaced by bigger, slower players... McKenzie Alexander, TJ Green, BJ Goodson, Kevin Dodd, Shaq Lawson, Jayvon Kearse are all gone... On the plus side, Clemson returned their entire offense and added what might be the best WR in the country... It scares me how dominant Louisville's defense looked against a Dual threat QB & dominant running game when they played Francois and FSU...
I think Art Briles to LSU makes a lot of sense, but if they were able to land Brett Venebels as the HC and Briles as the OC, they might be able to avoid some backlash. A fun little fact...My Ex GF was actually LJ tutor because he was struggling to score high enough on the SAT;s to be eligible.

A friend from high school is on the Vols staff, he talks about Tenn football nonstop, I couldnt help but criticize them weeks 1-4 and he kept saying Butch has been preaching that Florida is when the season starts and that the players were treating the first few weeks like preseason... It's a possiblity, but I think Mcleywn completely changed his philosophy when they were up 21-3 and they picked off Dobbs on the first posession of the 2nd half... once Ethan Wolfe caught the TD making it 21-17 the momentum completely shifted and it changed everything. Dobbs is terrible, and will never play like that again... Vols really need Sutton, Kirkland and Reeves-Maybin healthy ASAP. I really dont want to see them in the CFB Playoff.

Thanks again BA, I will stop by and see what your thoughts are on half time bets.
Because BA is a really good capper most of his bets move away from the opening lines and if they cross a key number that puts them in the no play zone. This isn't always the case and two of his "like picks" that have moved with us are Oregon ST +17.5 and Clemson +2.
These are my two favorite bets for this Saturday. The public is infatuated with powerhouse Louisville as well they should be so it is highly likely they will keep on pushing the line towards Clemson right up to kick off. I plan on betting Clemson money line right before kick off if the line stays below 3. But if the line crosses that vary key 3 number I will be more than happy to hit Clemson +3.5 with a large bet.
As a knowledgeable bettor whom has access to lots of the picks of many of the touts I can tell you that our own Bookie Assassin has a better track record than damn near all of them. He makes very few plays per week and I can't state strongly enough just how key that is to winning at a rate of 55% or greater long term.
Here's to you Bookie

I think the Sooners are dealing with too many injures. Stoops is bad about revealing who's out and who plays. I never find out until it's too late. I'm not that impressed with TCU's D. Hopefully OU can outscore them.

Venables is a TREMENDOUS DC........but maybe not the big name / dynamic personality they need...? *better check into that LJ situation pal.........

Can't find reliable info... Kenny Potter listed as OUT on Don Best yesterday along with a few other places ended up playing and killed me in the end, albeit on one leg. ESPN terrible.... Scoresandodds had Fournette listed OUT at 11am, ESPN still saying 'very doubtful' at 5pm.
