they can be beat no doubt, away from home, they'd punish everyone in Waco
the difference between this team and other high profile offensive teams in the past with soft defenses is
- they aren't soft at all, they have 4 guys on that will get drafted on the defensive line and they are mean type of kids that can stop the run if the QB isn't mobile, a mobile QB will get some rushing yards for sure (like Boykin from TCU, maybe the two kids from LSU or Florida), they would matchup very well against the Bama offense with that pocket QB
- they can be thrown on if you have a QB that can throw it effectively, TCU will score a ton on them when they visit FT Worth, this is an issue with their scheme/secondary, etc.... not many good throwing QB's out there amongst the top teams that can exploit this enough to really hurt them though, especially from the conference you're looking at (the SEC)
- this offense is not even close to soft, they are physical with very good backs, the best WR group in the country (Coleman is the best in the land & can't be covered at this level), they have a QB that can run and throw, he throws a great ball, can throw down the field as far as you want, they are truly balanced on offense in every sense of the word, this the best college offense I've ever seen in my 25 years of watching college football, they spread you out and kill you with speed and skill players at every position, no weakness in any area
teams that would matchup well enough to beat them on any given day in my opinion would be (neutral field of course)
- LSU if they could get a nice game from their QB, they would be decent stopping LF (I guess as well as you could be, he's gonna get yards on college defenses), the LSU defense wouldn't be able to stop the Baylor offense though so they'd need to play keep away and control the clock, certainly possible with good QB play, I'd take Baylor in this game but LSU winning wouldn't be a complete shock
- Ohio St as soon as they start playing well offensively, they can spread the field and match the size of Baylor, once again their defense would have little to no chance so they'd need to be very good at keeping the ball and wearing them down
- TCU
Boykin can do it all and TCU can score with them, this team is well equipped with their offensive scheme to get in a shootout with Baylor, I think TCU will probably beat them in Ft Worth later in the year, I don't think any team in the country would be favored @ TCU other than Baylor (and they shouldn't), current line is Baylor - 3, I'd be on TCU mostly likely despite having a love affair with Baylor, it's so hard to win on the road against a great QB and great coach
they would punish that defense from Bama, the Tide would be exhausted and not be able to keep up with those big bodies, too much speed-precision-spread, not exactly Saban's favorite combo to face and he hasn't seen anything like this before, this offense chuckles at that Johnny Football offense & that Auburn offense that gave Bama so much trouble, I would hammer Baylor vs Alabama 8 days a week
this is the best Baylor team there has ever been so I don't worry about past results, I look at what I'm seeing now, they are an up and coming program so it's hard to most to see them and have faith in them being a top 4 caliber team
I think they lose to TCU or @ Ok St, just don't see them going undefeated with that secondary and their inability to stop a legit spread attack, I have them ranked in top 4 but don't think they make the playoff unless a 1 loss Big12 somehow got in (very unlikely with their early season schedule)
they are beatable and they are fun to watch, I think even SEC fans would like watching this offense, it's a work of ART
