I obviously have not watched much WMU this year, but do you not want at least the threat of a running game to keep Purdue's secondary honest?  Is the QB their main RB just like Northern Illinois?

I absolutely know Western Michigan is capable.  That's why I laid off of Purdue +3 in the second half, as tempting as it is. But that's completely a differnt inquiry than to say that Purdue's pass defense in the first half was abysmal.  It was anything but.  That may very well change in the 2nd half.

I'm actually rooting for Western Michigan to out-score Purdue in this half by 10 points.
