I think Texas takes Okla St to the wood shed tell what iam missing in this game any input would be helpful

I think the line is where it is because OkSt has had some success against Texas regardless of their overall talent. The Cowboys have beaten the Longhorns the past 4 years in a row. Now you can read into that either way: OkSt has Texas's number, or Texas is out for revenge?

 

I'll go with the latter, especially since Texas already has a loss but retains some CFP hope. A few guys are coming back from injury and yes, Texas could very well take them to the wood shed because OkSt has played nobody. Could be a shootout so the OVER might be in play as well.

Well for starters Ok  st. has a very good QB.

I concur with assessments here.  And yes I am a Texas homer and alumnus.   They burned me on MARYLAND last season.  I think will be a different situation.     Ok st honored the passing of Boone Pickens last week.  This will be a very hostile environment for ok st.   I think the line should be around a td by kickoff.   I think texas should win by 10+.  It will be one of my 3 UCLA this week.  Also. It’s a night game.  Memorial Stadium will be rocking!  LSU was the better team on 6 Sep and the score reflected do.  This week Texas is the better team.  Hook em!

I would say this is unknown. It’s premature to call a redshirt freshman whose played 3 whole games against nobodies very good. Let’s see how he handles playing in his first road test on Saturday night in Austin. I’ll be taking the Longhorns here.

Tom Herman is a great coach, but he doesn't have his recruits in yet. The QB for Texas makes me nervous, I wouldn't count on him to cover.

JS12, vegas has the same view as the public. Texas has been down long enough they dont get a perception/respect boost. And the year Tx won the MNC Texas was 10-2 ATS if I recall....

Line has started moving back up (5.5). I have a feeling sharp money will pound Tex right before kickoff and line will be back up to 6.5 or 7.

Mjllomb, I'll clarify, Texas QB holds the ball forever (no wonder he doesn't throw any picks), that's what makes me nervous, he had 26 sacks a year ago. Going to have to take risks to keep up with Mike Gundy's always-prolific offense.

They're called Okie Light. And, I'm not here to convince you, just offer my perspective. I havent put money on the horns for 4 years.

Many of us Texas homers got burned by our sorry team against Maryland 2017 and 2018...those losses were in excusable...However, call us delusional if you wish, Ok St has defeated us four years in a row, 2 of those under well intentioned incompetent Charlie Strong and two under Herman...Texas showed you what they can do against elite SEC teams  (UGA, yes distracted, but a Sugar Bowl Win, is a Sugar Bowl Win and LSU came down to the last minute and the on side kick...).   Texas is not in Bama's Clemson's or Georgia's league yet, but they are climbing...This is not one of Gundy's better Ok St teams...Texas has a talent advantage, coaching advantage, QB advantage, home field advantage, and after four years of losing to these bums, motivation, to put a good together a solid Big XII win...All that plus, we are coming off a loss to LSU (the Rice win does not really count, since that was almost a given)...I try not to bet for or against Texas, but I am on Texas -6 based on my perception of the value proposition.   Sure, label me and others homers and biased and delusional if you like, you may be right...But, I would not bet against Texas in this matchup...And that's coming from a relatively accomplished capper who has been on covers for 12 years, and not some rookie action junkie UT undergrad...From my perspective, the facts point to a UT win and cover...But, I guess we will see on Saturday...Also, this is a night game...And there will be over 100K Texas fans in the stands...Assuming it is a good game or a solid Texas win, they can and will be loud, contrary to some pundits who say that Texas fans are not that loud...

I watched the whole Pokes Tulsa game.  I think State is susceptible to letdowns,  it's like they can't sustain.  They're body language just seemed disinterested,  like they were just going thru the motions.  THAT Texas team,  meaning the one who came within a end zone drop of going to OT with LSU,  should  handily beat  Okie St.  The fact that this is in Texas has me considering this line of -5 a definite play and a will be clear up to -7.

Iv'e been to numerous stadiums, all in the SEC and many outside, Texas is absolutely one of the night atmospheres similar and also in noise to SEC Venues, for sure.. I think this game is critical to Texas entire season, they can't let another one slip like they have in years previous that are mind altering, they are better than doing that now in my humble opinion. Whether they cover or not, I think they would still win even in a shoot out breaking out somehow in the end from their attitude and edge. I've watched them give up when things get tough in the past years, and as im sure Texas fans in here can attest to that.. The games last year to finish out the year is how they got to that Sugar Bowl by grinding, and how they finished and never gave in against LSU when they got done by multiple scores.. Herman is building a team now and a program built on winning...

college football in the south has the energy of soccer in Europe or South America. flat out fun and it kicks soccers behind because it mixes in the rush of demolition derby and the strategy of chess. too damn bad it scrambles and shreds knees but that's ok, i am not out there.

Texas alum here. I’d rather tease Oklahoma State up. Texas defense seems to have taken a step back this year. It will be an electric atmosphere and I see Texas up by about a TD or two at half. But I see Mike Grundy making adjustments and lighting up the Longhorns D in the second half to make it a close game. UT got lit up by Joe Burrow in the LSU game and those corners looked like D2. OSU isn’t as good, but UT has always had problems with the air raid and I still don’t trust this defense. Tread lightly

I watched Texas play LSU... Those boys are GOOD, they can tackle, get to the QB, and have a QB that is hungry... If they can take LSU one of the best teams in the nation and make it a close game like that they will do very well this season. 

I think they will win this game easily
