I couldn't see the game since I went to see Roger Waters in his 30 year celebration of The Wall.. great show btw. The last time I checked the score it was 24-7 at the half and I thought that game was money for BSU's backers.
Then I check the final score... WTF? Did somebody from the BCS call Boise State's Coach at half time to tell him, "listen man, we don't want this BCS mess, here's some cash for you and your players... go out, compete, and fall just a bit short."
Like I said, I didn't see the game so I'm just speculating here, but I saw those highlights on the 2 missed field goals... WTF??? Are you serious?? Smells fishy to me. I really wanted to see BSU at the big stage this year... Oh well..
I hope Oregon gets it now..

Man, I wish I could have seen this game... I was reading right now and not only did the Boise D struggle in the 2nd half, but suddenly, the offense after being all over Nevada couldn't move the ball in the 2nd half until the score was tied at 24.
Still smells fishy to me

Boise took their foot off the pedal and fell alseep at the wheel. Nevada took advantage, gained momentum, and got back in the game. By the time Boise regained consciousness, they were in a dogfight. And in the end, Boise's kicker choked and Nevada's stepped up.

one thing nobody has really said on this thread, even though it was the talk of the night after the game... was the calls by the refs in the 3rd and 4th quarter that pulled Nevada back into the game...
key plays and calls that killed Boise...
1) Boise blocks a FG on Nevada's first (?) possession of the 3rd quarter... for some idiotic reason, Winston Venable (the Capt of Boise's D) punches the ball about 50 yards (no joke) up the field... Boise recovers on Nevada's 20 yd line or so... but it is called back for a 15 yd Illegal Batting penalty... it was essentially a 70 yard penalty...
2) Boise punts to Nevada following that possession... Nevada punt returner muffs it, and Boise recovers around the 25 yd line of Nevada... AFTER the Boise player recovered, the ref throws a flag for Catch Interference... was the PLAY OF THE GAME and everyone here pretty much knows it... score was 24-7, all t he momentum was with Boise... if they go up 31-7, it is for sure a blowout... Boise gets better as the margin goes up... and everyone knows that was a BULLSHIT call by the refs... both commentators were all over it, too... was a terrible call! cost Boise a BCS game, and possible NC game...
3) after Nevada goes down the field and gets a TD (with the help of a drive extending PI call, that looked legit)... Boise tries to answer with a drive of their own... on 3rd and 10, Boise launches a 40 yarder... obvious PI call is ignored by the ref who is looking right at it... IF the Nevada call was a legit PI, then so was that one, because the defender did the exact same thing... again, if Boise answers on that drive, it's over!
4) after that Boise just got tighter and tighter, and calls continued to go in Nevada's favor, all the way to the end with another critical PI missed at the end of the game...
5) Nevada ties it at 24... Boise scores a TD very quickly to make it 31-24... Nevada puts together a long drive and scores a TD with almost no time left on the clock... 31-31
6) looks like OT... but Boise throws up a 70 yarder to Titus Young who makes a great catch around the 5 yard line... looks like an obvious catch, and Boise is lining up for a tying FG with :01 on the clock... but the refs call to review the catch... 5 minute icing of the kicker ensues, even though there was no reason whatsoever to review the catch... FG kicker misses a FG that, when i watched it live, i thought it was good... i looked down from the game and thought it was over, until i heard the commentators say, "did he miss it?"...
7) OT... Boise kicker misses the exact same FG at the other end of the stadium this time... on 2nd and goal of that drive, Titus Young dropped a TD pass in the endzone... looked like Moore put too much heat on it...
8) Nevada runs 3 plays up the middle and kicks it straight thru the uprights to win it...
9) 1 Million Covers idiots and SEC homers got to bask in the glory of their bullshit win and/or hate on anyone who ever said Boise was a good team...
