I had one bad beat go against me, and another worse go in my favor.

Had the Memphis/Tulane over.  Memphis got a pick six with abut 4 minutes left.  Then Tulane drove half the field and was picked off.  Memphis fumbled running out the clock, and Tulane returned it for a TD to put the game over.

Also had the UB/WM over (stayed under by a point and a half).  In the first half, UB kicked a FG that was clearly good, but the ref called it wide.  UB went for two late in the game to go up 7 and put the game over but dropped the pass.  WM had 6 turnovers, but all of them took points off the board.  WM threw an int with about a minute left, and the UB guy could have scored, but he ran out of bounds at the 3, and UB took a knee,

I am not calling fix.  It is gambling, and college football always has a lot of crazy shit happen.

Isn't it amazing fellas that near the end of the game you can actually "feel" and "see" that you're going to take it up the poopshoot?

Yeah man I was thinking the same thing. I saw BYU was up 52-10 and I'm like oh they're gonna cover then by the skin of their teeth with like a minute to go checked a few mins later and saw 52-13 final and I'm like Idaho is a bunch of fucking assholes. That game had to have been fixed. What jerkoffs go for a field goal down 42...and it's not like they were looking for points to prevent a shutout. That's bullshit.

Maybe the kicked the FG because BYU kicked a FG up 39 with 3 minutes to play?

Horse owners usually give jockeys and their guests at the track tickets they could cash in if the horse wins; I've heard of $500 to win place show on their horses; It creates a motivation, like a tip call it. Do family members of the players do that? Do family members and friends of the family, and extended families of these big programs try to make everyone happy with a cover? It is mutually beneficial, and other than pissing off the opposing coach, noone will tell, because of the selfish interest involved. THAT could account for the crazy shit y'all have been describing to end games and cost a cover. NOTHING illegal about it if it's friends of the program betting.

I am not calling fix.  It is gambling, and college football always has a lot of crazy shit happen.

Thorpe, was with you on both.  So sick that Buffallo didn't make the 2 point conversion.  Didn't know about the FG in the first (was watching game cast).  Bad beats even out in my opinion.  BYU was sick, but like I said, evened out my lucky one with Tulane/Memphis over.

a question for the original poster, and now youve calmed down maybe you'll be able to answer rationally, the only time BYU was actually covering was with 3 mins to go when they shouldnt have even kicked a FG, they should have tried to run it in on 4th down.

If BYU had been up 50+ and then gave up 2TD's then you would probably be right to be pissed but in this case, its not so much a hard luck case.

Not the OP but gonna put my two cents in.  To think of it this way is silly in my opinion.  The spread is the FINAL score spread.  Logically, you would only cover the spread towards the ending of the game, especially such a big spread like this.  Did BYU cover the halftime?  yes.  was BYU covering the 3rd quarter?  Yes (proportionately thinking 3/4 of 40 is 30).  To say it wasn't a bad beat because BYU didn't get up by 40 BEFORE the 4th seems illogical to me.  Now if the spread was 7 and BYU was losing the entire game or something, different story.

As to the comments about WHY BYU kicked it and didn't go for it on 4th, I can see both sides.  it was 4th and 2.  You can either go for it and most likely get the TD or you can just kick it.  Either way, you are gonna score points.  I think scoring a TD in that situation is worse than kicking a FG but could agree with either choice.  Of course, you couldn't just take a dive and not get the 1st, that would be the ultimate slap in the face.  IMHO.

It was a bad beat...definately not a "fix".  I would believe it more that Jason Gesser (HC for Idaho) had money on the game.  Absolutely NO REASON to try that fieldgoal.  going for the TD would be more valuable, experience wise.

Also, the fact that Gesser decided to punt but then decided to take the points after the muff?  that's an absolutely contradictory thought process.  Why would you give up the drive and punt, then all of a sudden decide it was so important to kick the FG?  You already basically waved the white flag by punting.

Or Gesser could be an absolute IDIOT.

I had ALL 3 HORRENDOUS bad beatsyesterday! But far and away, Idaho was the worst vI've seen in 52 years of betting football.

There has to be an investigation by the NCAA into fixing there. Idaho should NEVER be on the board again. Pure BULLSHIT!!!!

I'm cutting out betting CFB until they clean up their act.

18 yard line, so a 35 yard FG.

And BYU had 4th and goal from the 4 when they kicked their FG.

In my experience, coaches in BYUs position would run the ball on 4th and goal from the 4, and coaches in Idaho's position would throw the ball to the end zone with 1 play to run from 18.

My day was pretty bad as well with some of those games.
Virginia -1 (after telling myself why not just play the ML, it's just a point)
Ole Miss -2.5 (up 6 and let Vandy score with less than a minute left)
Teaser that included LaTech -7 as last leg. What a night! Big swing in units if those three won.

thorpe...minor correction, it was 4th and 2 from the 4 so they could have made another first.  But agree, most coaches would have called a run on 4th, no a kick.  Again, only thing I could think of is BYU though 3 was less humiliating than 7...or Mendenhall is a dick....I vote later...
