 Marc Lawrence had been around forever. Can't remember the publication but guess it was the early 90s or late 80s when he had a big section with all the trends for the NCAA and NFL listed plus a 900 number.  The "newspaper" or " newsletter" came out on Thursday and Friday morning and was sold-out by noon. News and Tobacco shops always had them. You could also order the subscription and if you did it came with a cup of coffee and a "collector's " cigar. Different times but very social and many hilarious "gentlemen" hung out there along hometown bookies for games and the ponies.
