Some shenanigans going on for the final score I'm thinking ??
Penn St must have thought they don't want to extend the game and in the event they can score another TD that's unanswered, they would be up 1. Risky, but overall a pretty dumb call imo.

Either way down 15 they need to go for 2 at some point

@rosswin97
So it is better to go for 2 after the next TD? If they don't get that wouldn't it still be game over? How hard is it to understand?

Lol, James Franklin is so stupid, first going for two and then throwing a bomb on second down and one with two minutes left in the game down by eight. An idiotic moron he is.

Yeah I knew it. It's to screw over the live wager Penn St+7.5

They were down 9 and chose to kick the extra point instead of going for 2. This is because the previous TD instead of kicking the extra point to make it a 7 pt game, they decided to go for 2 instead

Are you really serious? So why not go for 2 now, and if you get it, the next TD you potentially score you can kick the extra point to "tie the game". If you don't get it now, you know you need 2 scores and plan on side kick, etc later on. Either way, you will HAVE to go for 2, and if you don't get it, game over

They were never down by 9.
I’d say they went for 2 to go for the win on next TD. Franklin felt like he could get it. Then get a stop and score. Kick it and win by 1.

Are you sure about that? With 3:47 to go in the 4th quarter, Penn St scored a TD which is 6 points, making the score 45 to 36, which is a 9 point differential

Remember, there are two team on the field, not one. So if you are down 9 and miss the 2-point conversion, the other team knows it’s a 2-score game and can adjust accordingly. If you first kick the extra point and make it a one-score game at 8, there’s more pressure on the other team. That’s why you don’t go for 2 right away.
