Why is Montana State laying 9.5 to New Mexico in Week Zero??

Asking for a friend.  Are the Lobos that bad this year?

I mean Montana State was just an above average FCS team last year...

 I’m seeing it at 10 now…new coach for Lobos with Mendenhall back in the fold…Lobos are projected bottom of the MW…10 is hefty number with Montana St…I will say this about Montana St though…3 of their 4 losses last season were by 4 pts or less and all their wins were basically blowouts…Phil Steele hates the Lobos offense if that holds any credibility

I feel the same way. I think New Mexico will be really bad this year. But double digit dogs at home to an FCS team? It's concerning. I'm disappointed that I'm letting myself get influenced by this line. I'm actually buying it up to 14 and a hook, but I feel like I'm gonna kick myself in the end here by not taking Lobos on the ML. 

Pop quiz, when was the last time an FCS team was a DD road fav at an FBS team?

 Why not a unit on the spread and a half unit Lobos ML if feeling good about their chances

Montana St. was a little better than "above average" since they played for the FCS championship a year ago, but I agree that this line is crazy.  I wouldn't touch it with monopoly money. Far better games to invest in next weekend. 

It was actually the Montana Grizzlies (not Montana State) that were defeated by the Jackrabbits in the championship game.  South Dakota State had a very good defense last year.

 Yes but 1 pt overtime loss to Montana St…NDSU was 11-4 and it took Montana two OT’s to beat them in the semis…NDSU lost to number 1 and 2…beat number 3,6,11….all of those teams are quality for their level…speaking of NDSU, Montana, Montana St, South Dakota… not much separates the pack after the SDSU juggernaut at that level

Lobos stink no doubt - but this coaching staff is a MASSIVE improvement (had no idea improval wasn't a word ha) over LY. Despite a totally rebuilt OL - they should be able to run here, and at least stay close / really underrated QB - solid RB's. Line should (probably) be 7/7' ........  

Up to 13' now!  WTH?  Either side is a hard pass for me.
