I will start by saying that I feel LSU and BAMA are the best 2 teams in college...
All the Big 12 talk is so funny. People talk about the Big 12 strength of schedule and bla bla. If you look at the teams, the ONLY beat each other. The Big 12 as a conference has ONE CURRENT win against a ranked team outside the Big 12...ONE!!! Baylor beating TCU opening night. So, Big 12 lovers and their beating quality teams, come on.
Even if you hate the SEC, it is clear Bama deserves the chance to play again looking at the 1 loss teams.
Stanford..this arguement shouldnt even be made, but for some reason it is. They got rolled at home. They could have and should have lost 3 games this season. Luck is good, but they dont deserve a chance.
Ok St...lost on the road as 28 point favorites??? Really??? They gave up 48 points at home in ONE game really??? I dont care what they were dealing with in the Iowa St game with the team deaths and what not. If you are FOUR TOUCHDOWNS favorites on the road, you SHOULD NEVER LOSE. Plus, they were winning the game 24-7, so it clear they didnt have a let down. If they would have came out and got spanked from opening kick-off, ok go ahead and use the deaths as an excuse. But, blowing a 17 point lead as a 28 point favorite, come on.
Bama's only loss was obviously to LSU. Besides that, they didnt have a game within 16 points. If you watch football and dont realize how great their defense is, then just stop watching and stop calling yourself a fan of football. They have 10 starters who will start in the NFL.
The game between LSU/BAMA in some peoples eyes was a boring game. To me, that was the best game of the year. I dont care the score was 6-9. The fact that those 2 defenses didnt allow anything was awesome. First downs were few and far between, unlike every other league when team put up 50 points every week and score in 4 plays, making catches without a defender within 15 yards or running the ball for 12 yards before getting touched.
The speed, coverage, and hits in that game was awesome.
If you want to be an SEC hater, thats fine. People always hate the best teams and conference. They will win a title YET AGAIN this year. They will have the most drafted players yet again this year. People say the SEC is down this year, yet 2 weeks ago they had the 1, 2, 3 team in the BCS WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN DONE.
If you dont think LSU and Bama are the best 2 teams, then you cant say you know college football.
Well, saying all of that, here is why I dont think a rematch makes sense.
If LSU/BAMA play again, and BAMA wins(which I dont think they will), how do you claim them champs over LSU????
LSU walked into their house and beat them. So you cant claim, winning on a neutral field after 5 weeks to prep is a bigger win then winning on the other teams home field.
So, in my mind there is no reason for a rematch because you are only looking at a spilt title.
I would love to see LSU/OK ST, just so all the SEC haters could once again see how great the LSU defnese is. Weeden puts up crazy numbers because he has 15 seconds to throw the ball.
Oregon has the best offense in college, and they were dominated by LSU. LSU was bigger, faster and hit them in the mouth. Taking away a TD with 6 second, Oregon had only 20 points. This team score 50 a game, wasnt held under 34 the rest of the year.
LSU/BAMA will probably be the game, but would love to see the SEC BIG 12 game just so the ta;l about the Big 12 can stop
