Wow....Alabama #4 in AP Poll

Dropping only 3 spots after losing at home against n#15 team in the nation (A 2-loss team).

Here we go again....

VGPOP,     I guess it's curious to lose to a 14 pt underdog at home and stay that high in the polls but as I look at it, I can't see a better team than them to be there. I don't like it but that's just the way it is. Lot's of football yet to be played.  I want K. St. and Oregon but both have to earn it.

Regardless, if they win the SEC Championship they'll be in the title game.

Florida should've lost to Lou -Lafayette in regulation. Just a typical lack of poise/panic at the end of that one. Many SEC schools schedule minor programs in the southern region, rather than venture west of the Mississippi. Only LSU travelled back west in the last decade (I believe), and nearly lost to a mediocre Wash. team--and went on to the NC game.

The perception is that a loss in the SEC is not that destructive.

The reason they barely dropped is because they lost to an absolute SEC POWERHOUSE... its not like they lost to some mediocre Big 12 team lol

expect them to jump right back to #2 with a win over Georgia...

A&M was never a real threat in the Big 12, played spoilers a few times but that's about it, all of a sudden they go to the SEC and they are amazing? Big 12 is vastly underrated and SEC is a bit overrated. Also look at WVU, they were kings in the Big East and are now bottom of the pac in the Big 12.
A&M didn't gain SEC speed overnight.

Yes its sarcasm... seems like they suddenly they have a great offensive line, suddenly they have a killer defense (unless the play Louisiana Tech), and the best qb in football

And we always hear "this undefeated team is a joke if they played in the SEC they would get smashed", i think you have to reconsider that statement after what has happened this year

Georgia lost 7-35.... but ok I won't argue that one. That will work itself out.

So..... that's the rub that got this thread started? Bama is ranked 4th not 5th?

Here's the deal.  It'll all play out but Ala. hasn't beaten Georgia yet. That looks like a close game to me. I'm not ready to just give that game to Ala. No way.

I want K. St. to play Oregon but their are many other scenarios. What if N. Dame goes undefeated and everyone else has 1 loss. Easily could happen. Is Ala. in the mix then?  Let's play the season out. I'm thinking this could get interesting.   GL,   Doc

Next week, if Bama doesn't beat Western Carolina by 40+ points, they should drop below Ohio State.

Hate to bust any SEC bubbles here but, you lose in November on your home field to a 14 point ranked dog, you are, by definition, not as good as that 14 point dog in November.  Therefore, you should be ranked behind them.  A&M beating this Bama team in Tuscaloosa should have advanced 7 places to no. 8, instead of no. 9; Bama losing to No. 15 in November at home should have lost 8 places and be sitting at 9.

4 is dead on. Who should be ahead of them? LSU who they beat? FSU who lost to NC St? I can only assume A&M will be cracking the top 10 soon (if they didnt already).....

Bama at #4 is 100% correct imo

Actually Alabama should drop below Florida... yes the extrememly painful to watch, anemic offense Florida team

Florida has 1 loss to a higher ranked opponent than Alabama, plus Florida already beat the team Alabama just lost to at home, on the road.

And you have to wait and see where the computers rank Alabama when the BCS ranking come out, remember they had a huge lead at #1 already and may still be right on the tail of Notre Dame possibly even still ahead of them when the rankings come out. Wouldnt surprise me. 

And remember the rule if it comes down to this at the end of they year, if any of the undefeateds lose... a 1 loss SEC team is ranked higher than any 1 loss non- SEC team... no questions asked!!
