Weekly CFB Notes:
Clemson Tigers: O-Line stepped-up big in their opener against Auburn. Will this continue? I believe so. Love their conditioning in the 2nd Half especially with their up-tempo offense. The O-Line and Defense will be the key to their success. If Boyd is able to sit back- they are going to be dangerous with Watkins and Hopkins running all over the place.
Florida: All I got to say is the play-calling for this team was absolutely horrible to watch. They better adjust quickly; however, I just don't see Driskel as a solid QB. The Gators are lucky that A&M's game was cancelled this past week.
Oklahoma: Every year, this team comes into the season with hype. And guess what, they always underachieve. Always been telling people, this has to be the most overrated football program in the nation. I am thinking this year will be no different. Landry is not an elite QB and this year, he has no playmakers (sorry no Broyles).
Baylor: Really surprised to see how this team debuted against SMU. SMU's Offense is decent but the Bears D showed some promise. QB Nick Florence played outstanding as well. I was thinking I would see a decline; however they proved me wrong and on my radar.
Syracuse: Their Defense sucks! Will be pounding the Overs for their games this year. Thinking USC can cover the Over by themselves this week.
West Virginia: My favorite team! Will definitely make noise; however, their Defense will need to step-up during big games. Geno Smith, Tavon Austin, andStedman Bailey are playmakers at its finest!
Ohio State: Love em' or hate em', but one thing is for sure and that is Urban Meyer is an excellent coach. He got this program on track for success. Looking for big things out of them this year. Will be on them a lot this year.
Oregon: Against a shitty Arkansas State Defense so you cannot really say much, but WOW, they look absolutely flawless. They will give USC a run for its money. Will speed be the kyptonite against the prima donnas? They should just change the conference to Pac-2 already.
Iowa State: In my opinion, they are one of the most underrated teams in the country. They are solid on both of sides of the ball and I would not want to play this team at their house. Will be on them alot this year.
California, Colorado, Houston, Maryland, Minnesota, Penn State, Pittsburgh, and Stanford: No comment needed. Gameplay speaks for itelf. Will have to think hard before betting on any of these teams.
Week 1 did not offer too many good matchups to analyze the teams by. These are just my opinions from the games I watched this week. You may agree or disagree, this is what makes sports a whole lot more entertaning. Some people might say this might be an overaction, especially since it is only Week 1. However, great coaches prepare their teams well. Week 1 shows where teams stand with regards to preparation. Some teams are ready to roll, whereas some teams will need several more weeks, whereas some teams are just plain overrated. Let me know what you guys think!
Good Luck to Everyone!
