So the line supposedly opened at 14 got pounded to 12 and is now getting pounded back up to 13 or possibly 14.  This makes me love Baylor even more.

Ok, I have done some research and thought this through. 13 or more and I am playing Baylor. Less and I am not touching it. However the tease play here is Baylor plus 20 and over 44.5. I think the total is high and sucking everyone in to play the under with UC's D and I am not buying Vegas trickery. I see the game going over !!

Baylor is riding a two game winning streak headlined by Robert Griffin, a freshman QB who had 217 rushing yards on 11 carries. However, the two wins came against 1-AA Northwestern State and Washington State. Baylor’s offense is currently ranked No. 30 in the country in overall stats but only No. 73 in passing.

 

On the other hand, UConn are 28-6 on their home field, they’ve given up one touchdown this season in three games and they’ve got 19 of their 22 starters back from last season. In addition, UConn has Donald Brown at tailback, currently the nation’s second-leading rusher.

 

So we have a team that plays great home, lots of veteran players and a strong running game against a team who’s only weapon is a true freshman quarterback who’s success came against Division 1-AA schools. The big key is stopping Robert Griffin and keeping him in the pocket. UConn has been a strong tackling team over the past couple of years, but any lapses could prove costly against an opponent as athletic as this one. Slowing Griffin down early, considering he’s a true freshman making his third start and first on the road, is a big part of the gameplan.

 

Prediction: UConn-42, Baylor-21

It's been tough for me bro. I started out the same way last week lousy as hell at 0-2 bro but did really well on Saturday & Sunday to get back up.

Not trying to make excuses but,weekday games been a little harder for me this season. Trying to help the wife more at home due to her condition makes less time to get a grip on factoring out the stats on weekday games. I admit our kids are spoiled so they drive me  most of the time.

Anyway back to this game..

Tried to get myself to pull the trigger on the 1st half play getting closer to doing it. I love the stats and match up between the 2 that favors UCONN so the degenerate in me will probably end up pulling the trigger before game time.

Stop by as usual in my space later this evening my friend I'll post my picks for Saturday. I have a better feeling and a little more study time for those games.

law of averages says fav gets it done, but we all know what shld happen often doesn't....hopefully it'll be "i sought the law and the law won"...glta!

for what it's worth, Sports Network was wrong last two nights, but usually good throughout the year...hhmmm

This should be the toughest test for UConn to date, as the Bears have been extremely tough against the run. Considering both schools depend heavily on their ground games, expect a low scoring affair. However, with that said, the Huskies have a true running back, while Baylor relies on its QB to rack up the rushing yards, and that is a clear cut advantage for the Huskies, especially at home.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome:

The only play here is Baylor.  Have to decide on the total but leaning Over.  Probably won't play a total though.

My hunch is that sharps drove the line down early on Baylor, the books have waited for the public money to catch up on UConn, and now that they know most money will be public and on UConn they'll push the lines back up. Waiting to see if it will go back to 14 since it's back to 13.5 in places then I'll be taking Baylor. They are ok defensively against the run and UConn is primarily a running team. Their QB will manufacture a couple of scores and I see them keeping this one close.

First post of the college football season. 15-9 season to date. 1-1 this week with KSt and Colorado. I am a Big 12 guy and slightly biased though. Go Big Red.

What will happen: This is a tough spot for Baylor, which will be traveling to enemy territory to face one of the better coached defenses in the country. Griffin will have his hand in more turnovers than touchdowns, and Brown will stay on fire with his fourth straight 100-yard day to start the season.

UConn will run all over Baylor. There Defense is strong enough to pull off at least a 2 TD win.

Again, another one game night.  I think in this game the public got it right.  I like UCONN @ home (-13).

Too much hype on Baylor after that thrashing of WSU, but first away game I think they choke.  Of course, UConn has some hype to them after the Vir game, but I don't think as much as they did poorly against Temple. 

Its not like UConn is a bad team, they are average but not at home.  they play very well at home. The time to bet against Uconn is on their away game. 

Only worry is that the sharps are betting Baylor, but they are not always right.  The line opened at 14.5 which is a strong statement by the lines makers.
