Yeah dude wasnt it 17-16 last year? a real blowout if you ask me.....Get real, this is going to have better ratings then most people think, theres alot of interest in 2 undefeateads going at it. On the other hand, this was a bad draw for both teams, as I wish both bcs busters got a chance to take it to the big boys!

I love TCU here. I am shocked at the choice of the Fiesta. I am angered because I have a house in Arizona and family there and it would of been a perfect travel situation. Also woulda of been able to go to the Iowa State vs. Minnesota game. Oh well, I like Miami too.
TCU fans are NOT happy about playing boise as they should be. They had a great shot of beating one of the big boys this year, but now they dont have a chance. This stadium will be empty. Here is a quote from TCU fans on a message board. (Who dont sell out their home stadium)
"To the Fiesta Bowl Representatives: We have 40+ people who we buy TCU season tickets with and we all sit together. If you schedule TCU vs. Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl, most if not all WILL BOYCOTT and not come to the Fiesta Bowl.
We will not buy game tickets. We will not come to Arizona. We will not spend money at your area restaurants or hotels. We will not do any shopping in Arizona.
I hope you get the picture.
Most TCU fans feel this way too. THIS MATCHUP WILL BE A SALES NIGHTMARE FOR THE FIESTA BOWL!!!"

Unbelievable!! How about the powers to be putting the two at large teams together. I guess since Boise State knocked off Oklahoma in 07 and Utah throttled Alabama last year, they didn't want the so called "lesser power schools" making the system look bad by both of them beating two bigger names again this year. I believe TCU would of gave Florida all they could handle and then some, and Boise State would of beat Iowa. I know it's two unbeatens getting after it, but shouldn't the at large teams get a shot at the automatic bids ????

I really wanted TCU vs. FLorida. Would have POUNDED TCU. Boise State vs Iowa I feel would of been a great game. Boise State is Northwestern on steroids, and Iowa was able to shut NW down to 10 points offensively (7 scored by the defense). I feel our defense would of been able to stop Boise because they have not faced a D like Iowa's all year. That's beside the point because we now have 2 great mid majors playing each other.

Hawkeyefan - I would have loved to see the contrasting styles with a Boise/Iowa Fiesta Bowl Matchup. However as much as I would like to balme the BCS for creating this conspiracy, it appears that the Sugar Bowl is what created this horrible repeat matchup. The Sugar chose Florida first but also had the last pick, the Fiesta then took TCU and then unfortunately the Orange Bowl took Iowa. Apparently none of the BCS Bowls wanted Cincy as they didn't sell out their bowl ticket allotment last year and produced lousy ratings, so when the Fiesta got their 2nd pick they took Boise knowing that their fanbase was closer and that they brought close to 35,000 fans when they faced Oklahoma 3 years ago.
As far as this game goes, I believe and know that this matchup is a major blow and disapointment for TCU's players way more than Boise St's. TCU players were really hoping on getting a real BCS Team to see how good they were and were visible upset during the announcement ceremony since they were told right before. Now, after going undefeated and getting so close, their senior laden team doesn't get the chance the way Utah twice and Boise got to defeat the perceived Big Boys. Boise's players on the other hand are real happy to be going back to Glendale and want some serious revenge for the 1pt loss in last year's Pointsetta bowl game.
I wouldn't be surprised if TCU does not bring their "A" game with how disappointing a rematch against Boise St. is viewed. Boise St. also has a major question mark with the injury to Austin Pettis, their leading receiver who fractured his lower leg two weeks ago. Although they are quite deep at receiver he was Kellen Moore's go to WR and leads the team in TD catches. He had surgery to hopefully get back in time for their bowl but he is currently listed as questionable.

Both of my favorites team for the last couple of year are playing against each other. If I have to choose one it will be TCU , they are a more balance team than Boise. Just hope they will come to play.

What a screw job they did on these 2... probably didn't want them both to beat their opponent and have yet another argument why they should be right up there with the big boys... especially the Mountain West... that should be a BCS conference... well, they've screwed us again! It is a good matchup though. Sharp

TCU needs to join Big 12. Have them join Big 12, bump Missouri out and into the Big 10 and make two division. Have Boise join Pac 10. Just throwing it out there

Just my humble opinion, but Florida would NOT pound TCU! come on thats retarded, I'm gonna go on a limb and say you havent seen a TCU game, that defense got SIZE AND SPEED! I'd say if it were DD, TCU could easily play insided the number, and maybe win on a lucky day.....
Both teams got jobbed by the bullsh*t championship series....taking down 2 auto qualifiers would have sent ratings sky high, long term politics trying to preserve the current system in play here. The only thing that they were more worried about is if Texas lost to Nebraska, either they were going to have to give TCU their shot, or make up some bullsh*t reason why Cincy should jump them after squeaking by Pitt. AND god forbid TCU upset bama in the Natl tilte game, then all arguements for big 6 conf are now sh*t and the BCS comes crashing down!

This is actually a good game to tease both ways... Boise State +13 and TCU -1.... I don't do many teasers until bowl time.. and you'd be surprised how many times you hit both ways... Sharp

Hawkeye, I agree with you on 2 of the 3 things here.
1. Boise State joining the Pac 10, would be great, but which school would you say adios to, so that you can have 10 teams or maybe besides Boise State, you can add another team like maybe Fresno State & have 2 divisons & a conference championship game. Those 2 teams would be GREAT for the PAC 12 & then it just might pass the SEC for the best conference in college football!!!
The Pac 12 Conference can look like this:
Pac 12 North: Boise State, Cal (Cal is further north than Stanford), Wash, Wash St, Oregon, Oregon St
2. TCU joining the BIG 12, would be great!!! The thing that I disagree on with you about is, I feel that Missouri should stay in the BIG 12. They have a really good team & are pretty exciting to watch & their offense that is pretty darn good. The team that I would say GOODBYE to is, COLORADO!!! That team is a VERY BAD team, basically, they just MIGHT be the worst team in the BIG 12. Colorado is just a bad team. Colorado should be placed in the Mountain West Conference that has Colorado St, BYU, & Utah!!!
I think that this would be great. Hawkeye, what do you think?

Hawkeye, I also, wanted TCU to play Florida, but the Bowl committee wants Florida & Tim Tebow to go out on a winning note, just my opinion. IF TCU indeed played Florida, I feel that TCU would win this game. We have seen how Florida plays on offense against a GREAT defense (Alabama!!). Boise State against Iowa would've been a really good game to watch, too!!! Iowa playing in the Orange Bowl against Geo.Tech is also a good game. I feel that your Iowa Hawkeyes will beat Geo.Tech, beacuse Tech runs the ball 98% of the time (A one dimensional offense) & Iowa has a GOOOOD defense that will pretty much stop the run. IF Tech HAS TO pass the ball, It's OVER, Iowa will win EASILY!!! I predict the score will be: Iowa 28 Georgia Tech 17.

Don't agree with your last point. Colorado going to MWC doesnt solve anything. Missouri, who has expressed interest in going to Big 10, solves the Big 10 dilemna and gets TCU in a real conference

Trivia::: at the time of team selection for the Big 12 it was down to either TCU or Baylor as the last team, the then Gov of Texas was Ann Richards, a Baylor grad, and she swung the vote for Baylor

Yeah, I'm sure having Cal and Stanford in separate divisions is going to work....
As for farther north, since you live in CA, you damn well know from Palo Alto to Berkely is just over a 1/2 hr away.
What makes sense is Boise going to the MWC and trying to ratify that as a BCS conference, unfortunately for my UH Warriors, that would destroy all credibility for the WAC.

Something to note: TCU beat 4 teams that allready won their bowl game as underdogs. Two team upset the "mighty PAC10". TCU blew out BYU and UTAH. TCU will role this game, Boise will score between 17 and 24, but TCU will top 50. Nevada was embarrased by a bad SMU team that TCU handled.
