Definitely think there will be points scored in this game, but I cannot believe that Marshall is giving 10 points to NIU. I reiterate myself from the last few weeks when I say that this is not the same caliber offense that NIU has had in the past with Jordan Lynch and Chandler Harnish but it is still the same NIU program that comes on late in the season to win games (evident by a current 7 game streak. It's a traditionally solid program that wins big games. +10 is a gift in my opinion, and I have watched a Marshall team that has been inconsistent the last few weeks versus LT, WKU, and UAB.
LT is the only won of these 3 teams that should have given Marshall problems. NIU is far better than WKU and UAB, and if those two teams could win/cover I fully expect NIU to do the same. NIU plus the points, game over, and a small play on NIU ML at +290 for me.
Last note: if this game starts quickly with scoring on both sides of the ball it should remain high scoring. I think NIU's one weakness is their pass defense, so look for a good in-game play on the total if both teams start fast.

"Marshall 45 - Northern Illinois 28 Explosive Marshall is
22-5 SU the last two seasons and has scored more than 40 ppg in each
of the last three. The Thundering Herd attack is led by sr. QB Rakeem Cato, a
Miami native who’s thrown for 13,798 yds. and 128 career TDs. Cato completed
66% for 563 yds. & 5 TDs in leading Marshall to win-and-cover efforts in
the 2011 Beef-O’Brady’s and 2013 Military Bowls. Power RB Devon Johnson (a
converted LB) gained 1636 yds. (8.6 ypc), but was hampered by minor injuries
down the stretch, with just 7 for 63 YR in the last two games.
Marshall showed depth, however, as Steward Butler (7.7 ypc) and jr.
Remi Watson combined for 1302 YR & 11 TDR. Marshall’s defense has nine
starters who are 4th or 5th-year players and has improved dramatically the last two
seasons, yielding just 21 ppg in 2014 & 22.9 in 2013 after being touched up for
43 ppg in 2012.
Marshall’s offense represents the most severe test the NIU defense
has had since losing 31-10 to EJ Manuel’s Florida State team in the 2012
Orange Bowl. The superior speed and athleticism that Marshall possesses will
be difficult for the Huskies to cope with, and the MAC’s underachieving bowl record points toward a big day for Cato near his home
town.""

game is in Boca FL. Cato is from the area and I expect a big game from him in front of his family and friends. N. Ill is a tough well coached team but don't see them keeping up with Cato. Marshall 48 N Ill 27

5-0 ATS/SU this bowl season so far. Gunna lay the points in this one. Cato and Shuler will both have huge games in their homecoming. NIU struggles in FL.

Clicked on Covers this morning to make my selections for today's bowl games. Much to my dismay, all the games have been selected for me. All sides and totals down the left side. Some favorites, some dogs. No idea how that happened!!!

I meant all the money and side is on Northern Illinois...right now 71% side and 74% money on Northern Illinois and the line is at +8.5 after opening at +10.5
Total is getting pounded on the over and has moved up from 64 to 67 to 68...
