I think these Caines are like my Irish......young kids that got kicked while they were down and are now hardened and motivated and have a chip on their choulders. FSU is dealing with internal trouble and Bobby Bowden seems to be to focused on his chase of the record wins in NCAA D 1.........I think Miami sneaks up on them and wins this one something like37-31.......hey....and who else got burned tonight my that Miss coach not taking a knee in the last minute when Memphis wasn't using the 3 TO's they had to use.........maybe Houston Nut should be suspended for a couple game for unsportsman like conduct......what a joke!!!!!!1

Man - if this game hits 7 I'm taking the Canes.. too many points in this rivalry.. I'll take my chances.. so many times this matchups comes down to a field goal.. and even if it were a touchdown then I'm good at +7... Come on 7... Sharp
Me too man, my book has it at +6.5 but i have a feeling it will go to seven since the juice is only -105. Even if it doesn't hit 7 I will buy that half a point.

I like Miami with the points. this will be a close game. FSU 17 Miami 14 - something like that. 6 or 6.5 is enough for Miami to cover. Also love the Under here..

Looking to take a shot with the Canes on the ML.....currently at +220.....If I can get 7 or 7.5, I'll take the points......also looking at the under, but would like to see it get back up to 48/48.5

i like miami and under, regadless of how last year play out... come on fellas its miami vs fsu, they not gonna go easy on each other. I don't think miami got revenge on their mind. besides fsu was very inconsistant last lose by over 10 points then they'll win by 20 and then lose by 15. hard to go for them as favorites with a spread over 3.

I left out UM's Graig Cooper from the starting roster by accident. Nonethless, the main tailback for the Canes this year is Javarris James as he's the one with the higher ceiling.
FSU's 2ndary is pretty thin. A few veterans there but the 2nd stringers are all newbies. Patrick Robinson is the better of the bunch -- at least in terms of experience; Dionte Allen is okay; hearing big things about Ochucko Jenije as he's full-time duty this year.
Jacory Harris can hurt FSU down deep -- as long as he can connect with his 2 main go-to guys, LaRon Byrd and Travis Benjamin. A big nod to Travis Benjamin as he had a huge game against FSU last year. 3 of 4 of UM's starting receivers are taller than 6-3. Of course, WR's are almost always taller than CB's but this height advantage could prove most useful in the red-zone for the Canes.
Meanwhile, UM's 2ndary should improve quite a bit as Sam Shields has been converted to CB. He's fast and its always nice to have a corner that can play like a wide-receiver.
Nonetheless the focal point in this series is the running game. Neither QB is built nor designed to throw TD's like Tim Tebow anyways.
The team that outrushes the other wins; no truer words for this series.
2 very interesting points from UM's game notes:
Since 1988, the team that rushes for more yards in the Miami-Florida State series has won the game 17 of 22 times.
When Miami and Florida State play, the team that has scored first has won 16 of the last 18 meeetings.
Just pick the team that you think can score first or can outrush the other and you have your winner. Easy as that. Hehe.
I'm leaning to... the U.
FSU's defense is great, no doubt, but i just like Miami's defense better this year. I'm really looking forward to a big year for UM's trio of linebackers. Darryl Sharpton is a stud and a healthy McCarthy will be in Ponder's face all day -- he's perfect for the 4-3 defense and should be one of the difference in this season's perennial bout. Spence is solid all around.

I got FSU -5 and I'm riding it may play a middle if it goes to 7 but at home opening day it will be crazy in Tallahssee and that accounts for 6 points right there. This may be a close matchup but Bowdens boys should win by 10 in the end.5unit play.
