an undefeated team getting points at home.. hmmmm.. a bit fishy.. although it could be because people will play oklahoma regardless.. was leaning oklahoma, but will look to see how the line moves..

The difference in this year's OU team from the better ones of the past is pass defense. They always had a rock solid def with their best teams. This defense, while stout at times, is vulnerable in the secondary to a very good offense. OU is 10th in pass defense in the Big12. However, the OU tunrover margin is strong and leads the conference.
The Mizzou defense on the other hand is 2nd in the nation in scoring defense...defensive stat that matters most. On offense Mizzou is very efficient and has balance. They can gash a vulnerable pass defense short, medium, and deep. The QB play is solid. Only 3 INT's and 7 sacks in 6 games. Illinois and SD St. can play strong defense so these weren't all patsies.
That being said, OU has owned Mizzou and it is something to consider. And when OU is clicking they are very tough to beat. Much of the season they have misfired some and had to squeak by some teams. If that happens in this one, they will lose. If they play their best inspired ball and Mizzou folds under pressure, they win. If both come out with their 'A' game you have the makings of a 3 point ballgame in one favor or another. Tough call.
Mizzou has been strong rushing the passer and created 20 sacks (6th in FBS)...Landry Jones tends to get flustered with a heavy rush, though has only been sacked 10 times. Gabbert has been sacked 8 times...while OU defense has 18 sacks. Very close here, but slight edge to Mizzou, if any.
In OU's favor, if it does come down to the wire it is very hard to overcome the black cloud of a team owning you when you are playing out the tail end of a close game. In Mizzou's favor it is a night game at home and the crowd will be jacked if it's close in the end.
After bouncing this game in my head all day I feel like Mizzou will have good success against the OU pass defense and give them a slight victory. However, this one will be a wild ride reminiscent of an OU-TX game in Dallas. Those tend to jump all over the place with emotion of players and fans. May be too unpredictable a spot to risk any coin.

MIzz blowing out A&M has made this line smaller than it should be. People will be looking for another big home dog upset, but i think OU shows up and blows them out. OU -3

I was at the A&M game and saw this Mizzou team first hand. It wasn't as much as they were good as it was A&M was bad. The line is kept low because Mizzou is undefeated which sets up well for OU backers. Mizzou's offense consists of dinking and dunking down the field with an occasional post/flag route worked into their TE. OU has too many weapons on offense and should win this game by at least a TD. OU's late season stumble will come somewhere else (either on the road at A&M or vs Oklahoma State).
I'm on OU -3.

Sooner has just play one game away this season and they win by 2 points.. Sooner has struggle when they are away that why the spread is -3 plus Mizzouri is a powerful team and plus they have home advantage .But I think Sooner have enough power to beat Mizzouri team.. is going to be a good game..

Sooners have struggled on the road this year, and early in the year they were very up and down (destroy FSU and then barely get by Air Force, etc). However, they have started to right the ship (52-0 at ISU 2 weeks ago). I cannot trust Pinkel coaching in any big game..name ONE big game where he coached well??????????? You cant....Stoops has had his share of big game issues the past several years, but I just cannot see the Sooners not covering this number. We will see how good Mizzou's defense is this weekend, as the BOOMER SOONER will put severe stress on them...Sooners by 7-10 for me...they continue their roll into the Big 12 Champ game (against hopefully my Huskers)

someone said the same thing after mizzou beat colorado... said it was more of colorado just looking bad. perhaps mizzou is the reason these teams are looking bad...

OU will not follow the trend of #1s falling, at least not this week. OU has too many weapons. Not saying Mizzou won't be jacked playing a #1 ranked team at home, they will, but OU's balance of running and passing is too much for the home team to handle. Sooners have played down to teams a couple of times this year but stood tall when they had to. Now their goal is right in front of them.
OU---large 5 unit play for me
