SMU is gonna be better than people think this year....no way I would take Tech to cover here. New coach, road game, no D....no thanks.
You're talking about the same SMU team that lost crap games last year versus Tulane and Rice, got smoked against major conference teams Baylor and Texas A&M, and have a garbage coach who thinks he's still at Hawaii with Tommy Chang? Will have fun watching TT put up 60+ points next weekend.

Tend to agree with smitt...........SMU will most likely give Tech all they want.........wouldn't give over 21. Tech's defense could be a surprise here at the beginning of the season. Caution against taking the over here.

1. Reverse line movement early on SMU - public betting TTU at about 68% rate while line opened at TTU -7 and have moved down to -5.5. Right now, this is a classic RLM and hits about 55% over the long term.
2. TTU is clearly the public side. That is not enough reason to make a play on SMU in isolation but combined with the RLM, it is good enough to make a 1 unit play on SMU.
3. Money line indicator - still too early and not enough ML betting action yet to make a play but I will post it here if anything becomes available on the ML indicator.

Two reasons to take SMU in this game

Some points to think about - TTU Qb is out of the game. TTU will be starting a redshirt freshman. The freshman is really good based on spring game reports but he is still just a freshman.
Humidity in Dallas is much much worse than the humidity in Lubbock. TTU players could be in for a shock as the game wears on and TTU is not a deep team. SMU now runs the ball more than most people think and they have a new RB that transferred in from Texas. Not good enough to start at UT but plenty good enough to start for SMU. TTU is always weak against the run and I don't expect this year to be any different.
Kids on the SMU team were not recruited to TTU. Typically, these types of teams get up to play the big brother who ignored them. Same thing happens when TTU plays Texas and Texas A&M ( not anymore). I really expect a good effort from SMU in this game.
Kingsbury will turn TTU around - but I don't expect it to happen this weekend in Dallas vs SMU.

I like SMU as well. game really looks even so im taking points. I understand that Tech has inexperienced corners. SMU has lost the last 10 vs Tech, something has to give. Also SMU did end the year on a great note. Pounding Fresno in the SHERATON HAWAII BOWL. Fresno was decent for the league!
